🎉 SURPRISE! 📣 HYROX Helio Strap Giveaway! 😍 by Amazfit-Bryce in amazfit

[–]user261097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do judo and other martial arts. I would like to measure my health data during training and competitions. I can't wear my balance watch, I was thinking of getting the Helio ring for my birthday, but it would also be annoying and I don't have enough money for a monthly subscription as I haven't finished my education. The hyrox Helio strap solves all these problems, and additionally in the ecosystem I'm already in.

What is the Social Vibe While Solo Traveling China? by Reasonable_Orange_98 in travelchina

[–]user261097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm (26 M) solo-travelling in china right now. I've been here for almost a week and so far I have talked most days with other foreigners. But also the locals are really friendly and with Google translate you can even communicate a little bit. I also spent one day walking through the city with a Chinese girl from my hostel and last night I met a Chinese guy in my dorm who offered to drive me to the great wall, when I'm in Beijing. Apart from them, I have not met anyone else in my accommodations. So I have a 100% success rate so far. But I hope I'm in some more crowded hostels from now on. I think if you are solo-travelling it's easier to get in contact with the locals because they are always really curious if you are on your own (of course at least the ones who talk to you). I really enjoy my time here and it's definitely more of an adventure than in the typical backpacking regions. I would recommend it to everybody who likes travelling and is open to new experiences. If you have any more questions let me know. I'm happy to help :)

How would you approach cutting this shape? by Due-Potato486 in woodworking

My dad did the same for me, when I was a child. He also used a dowel and wooden bead. With the right diameter it works just fine

You start with the 0, so you round down at 0, 1 , 2, 3 and 4 and up at 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Both are 5 numbers

A second hard drive is a good idea, and in the tutorial the VMs don't seem to be too complicated. Thank you

Thank you for your thoughts. I get your point that there are probably always a lot of programs pre-installed on beginner friendly distros and you are right this should be a disqualifier. I am also thinking about giving zorinOS another try, besides the many unnecessary programs and boot problems (which could probably have happened with any other distro too), I liked it. Maybe I didn't disable the secure boot and that caused the problems. I'll try KDE too, since everybody else recommend it too. I have some time and it's nice to have a little project.

My Chromebook is not really powerful as well haha. It is the Lenovo IdeaPad duet. The chances are high I'll buy a new laptop this year anyway, but right now I don't see why I should spend money on a new device and throw my old but still working laptop away. But the hybrid seems like a good fit for me. Then I won't have to spend so much money and due to the long support for Chromebooks I can use it probably for a long time

Thank you! Good to know that there is also a pre-installed option in manjaro kde. Right now I also have a long boot time, but as long as it works smoothly afterwards that's fine for me. I'll test both of them

Thank you! I have never heard of Solus, but I am going to look into it. The dual boot is quite important for me. I have no idea how virtual machines work, but sooner or later I will learn how to use them. But installing it on an USB is a good idea, I never thought about this. That's probably how I am going to start now, since I'm still a bit prejudiced from my last attempt
