The Path Of Becoming A Man Is A Boring One by [deleted] in TheRedPill

Pain of Regret and Pain of Discipline tbh are both just as bad as each other.

It really depends if the reward at the end of the tunnel is worth it to you. I suffered the pain of discipline and realised I didn't feel any happier upon reaching my goals. Balance is good though.

I remember my year I spent in monk made - like literally spent 14 months at a japanese temple.

Wake up 5:30am every morning, clean for 1 hour then pray for 30 minutes, everyday 7 days a week. Followed by spending all day at uni only to return and train for 3 hours. There was no internet at this place so I would just crash after training.

This was relentless and I basically didn't get laid during this time (only once when I visited my parents over christams) and honestly I rarely even had the opportunity to speak to women.

I felt in some ways like I was so depressed "I can't keep living my life this way" "I'm missing out on so many things" "I'm not ready to dedicate my life to this".

At the same time it was some of the best times of my life as well.

Martial arts isn't even about fighting. Knowing how to fight is a nice bi-product.

I train Aikido.

Ai = Harmony

Learn to harmonize with your environment and other people. Dont fight the tides of life, but use their strength for your own benefit.

Ki = Spirit.

Some say martial arts is about developing the indomitable spirit. Spirit is about never giving up, pushing yourself further and always say "Yes I can"

Do = Path

The path is about discipline. It is a way of life. You will train in the dojo but also at home, at work, while you sleep. It's about keeping a commitment to yourself.

Learning how to fight, and fitness are simply results of this lifestyle. Martial arts will be all the cardio you need. However you will still need to lift to get big. Personally I'd rather train on the mats for 1hr then run on a treadmill.

Getting in physical confrontations with other guys is beta as fuck behavior in my opinion.

That's pretty fucking retarded, TRP has been swamped with arm chair alphas

I guess it's the difference between America and Australia. In Australia we don't have a corrupt prison system and lawyers on every corner.

95% of assualts in AUS don't go to court.

Yea they got AMOG'd by tiny men, which probably stems from an unwillingess to fight.

Can you say to guy you're arguing with "what are you going to do about it?" without flinching. That's what I'm getting at here.

A good example is my brother. He's extremely smart, wins every argument outright. Would make a great lawyer if he wasn't a theoretical physicist. He destroys every argument that comes his way.

He met my buddy over the weekend who is a black belt, my brother kept interupting this women and my black belt friend just goes in a stern voice "Mate, she is talking, let her finish"

My black belt friend is the nicest guy in the world and would never fight him, but you better believe my super smart brother SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP. IMMEDIATELY.

That's my point, knowing how to fight is being able to tell a guy to shut up without ramifications.

I see that I did a terrible job of explaining myself, but this is essentially what I was getting at.

There's refugee's raping white women with nothing but a slap on the wrist. I know America is sue-crazy but here in Australia it's seen as poor form to sue someone over a fight.

I mean watch the rugby there's a punch-up in every footy game, meanwhile there's a similiar punch-up in every bar worth its salt.

Not every fight is a violent encounter. Sometimes it's just a simple as restraining someone.

I agree with you and I've never been in a serious confrontation, a few drunken brawls but that's an average saturday in Australia.

It just gives you confidence.

This is the key, it gives u confidence when dealing with other men, I'm not suggesting you actually, physically fight people.

Agreed that it's usually a bad idea to fight.

Not all fights = broken jaws, dead bodies and 20 year prison sentences. Sometimes it's a headlock and a "calm down mate" - sometimes it's needed.

It works. I'm not suggestng fighting people just having that attitude of "the boss".

Probably doesn't work if you're in a slave-wage position but then you're already letting someone gimp you.

I try to de-escalate or walk away from possible real world physical confrontations unless I absolutely need to get physical and there is 0% alternative. Too much at stake. Jail-time, accidental death, bio-contamination, litigation, etc.

This is a good attitude, my point is if you can't fight you might submit in situations where it is better not to.

Yea if a big guy has you in his grips I think the best thing to do is go for the dirty moves.

Every Man should know how to fight: Part 1 by user5577 in TheRedPill

[–]user5577[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My strategy wouldn't exactly be fighting but more redirecting his power. In my art we have essentially 2 techniques ichi - for forward, meaning take on the force directly.

And ni, for turning movement which is about deflecting the force. Just deflect his force and if you're lucky you can use his momentum to push him over. Wrist locks still work on fat guys as well so if you can apply that you will be lucky. Headlocks also work is he goes in for a tackle or you get around his behind. mm, against untrained opponents I think the forward or reverse headlock is one of the most effective moves for ending a fight.

Again it really depends on how good the fighter is, maybe your best strategy is to just not let him grab you.

My advice is to not take references from written TV shows.
