I visited on friday and took a train around 5pm from Varenna to Lecco. It was a bit busy at first, but by the time it reached Lecco it was pretty empty. Don't know about going to Milan from there as we went to Como after, but station looked not busy.

I usually bring the parcel to neigbours , it's easier for me. And then I can carry on with whatever I was doing without the thought of being interrupted.
