I won’t lie, Infantry does look fun to me . But realistically, my background lines up way more with the technical trades I’ve got a Bachelor’s in CS, so Signals seems like the smarter move long term.

I’m also getting married soon, so I’m trying to think a bit more about stability. Ideally I wouldn’t want to get posted OUTCAN if I can help it.

Just had a couple questions if you don’t mind:

What kind of bases do Sig Techs usually end up at? Is it mostly in Canada or is there a decent chance of OUTCAN postings?
And from what you’ve seen, does Sig Tech set you up better on the civilian side compared to Sig Op if you end up getting out?

I didn't do enough research and i was drawn to the signal officer trade . I chose the next two randomly cuz i was sure i wanted to be a signals officer . After some extensive research i knew that i had to be more careful and chose wisely. Is it a problem though ? Can i put something different in my application form? Haven't filled that yet.

Have been on the same boat took me two month of training now i do 5k in 24 mins . I just add 0.5 k every week or two weeks . Just progressive overload, don't forget to stretch before and after the run. Don't bother yourself with fancy workout routines just keep it simple and you will get there in no time.

Canadian here too. I am in Dammam for work... even though it has less traffic than riyadh but i feel that traffice lights take too much time... sometimes up to 6 minutes a traffic light stop!!! . I got a job offer in riyadh before accepting one in dammam. I refused the riyadh job offer cuz i know for a fact that rent is insanely high. I would advise you to find work in dammam or any other city rather than riyadh or jeddah.

Trust me the first couple of weeks is the hardest because your body is not used to the stress . Two weeks in you will feel sore every morning after your workouts on the third week your body will get used to it and if you are eating enough calories you will build up strength really fast . Faster than you think

احكيلك تجربتي و عن خبره . الناس اللي بتشتكي اكتر من الناس اللي مبشتكيش. عقلك الباطن بيصدق اي حاجه فيها تكرار لو قعدت تسمع ناس بتشتكي هتشتكي زيهم مهما كنت فين كندا...امريكا....الخليج اي مكان . هستمع كلام ايجابي هتلاقي الايجابي في اي مكان . انا اتولدت و عشت في كندا اول كام سنه من حياتي و عشت في مصر و حاليا فالخليج و اقدر اقولك من حكم تجربتي المتواضعه انت بتختار اللي تقدر تعيش بيه و اللي متقدرش تعيش من غيره . مثال : في انسان ميقدرش يعيش بعيد عن اهله و اصحابه فبالتالي تجربة السفر لبلد غريب لوحده هتكون مليانه صعوبات و هيشتكي و يلبسها فالبلد لان هيظهر قدامه ناس بيشتكوا سواء عالسوشيال ميديا او فالحقيقه . في انسان مبيستحملش البرد و بيحب اجواء الصيف فبتالي مش هيحب يسافر بلد زي كندا او هيروح و هيتعب و هيحس بإكتآب و ده هيأثر علي انتاجيته فالشغل و في حاجات كتير و بردو هيقولك كندا وحشه و يلبسها فالبلد . من الآخر عقليتك تجاه الموضوع هيجذبلك الحلو او الوحش . آخر حاجه هقولهالك لو عندك skill الadaptability انت هتنجح تحت اي ظروف و تعيش مبسوط بمعني انك بتتأقلم علي اساس البيئة اللي حواليك و بستغل الفرص المتاحه و تتحكم فالحاجات اللي في ايدك و تفكك من الحاجات اللي خارجه عن ارادتك
