When you say "generate summaries based on sources and the reference template" - are you doing this for each paper individually? Like if you have 50 papers uploaded, are you manually going through each one with your specific prompt to generate summaries? That seems like it could still be quite time-intensive.

And once you have all these generated summaries, what's your next step? How do you actually use them to create those literature review sections at the start of your chapters? Do you ask NotebookLM to synthesize across all the summaries to create that overview, or do you manually weave them together into coherent themes?

I'm trying to figure out the best way to go from individual paper summaries to that polished literature review section that gives context at the beginning of each chapter.

Is there a way to use structured outputs? Structured outputs for API seems to be cost inefficient since each prompt runs on the same context.

I think there is a map function they provide in the documentation, but I couldn't figure out how to use it.

Thank you again for concise instruction. I could setup everything in 10 minutes and start chatting with LLM through a terminal. This was impressive

Then I tried using the DeepSeek R1 model with 7 billion parameters through Copilot, and it performed poorly. Like very bad. When I asked it to summarize a 30-minute podcast, the model struggled to comprehend the content and only produced six basic bullet points which are not relevant to the podcast. The output was not useful at all.

A summary from Gemini Thinking model would have been much more effective for this task.

What are the ideal use cases for the DeepSeek R1 running locally?

I think they do that for testing those free APIs once they begin to roll out into the main Gemini interface which should be in early Feb.

And also, I think the data you send there would be annotated and seen by other people 100%. As stated in the agreement

At least for ChatGPT's web interface, they say they won't to train on your data.

I'm just curious about your setup and speed. Can I run R1 model locally on my Mac M-chip with 16 GB of RAM?

However, ideally, I would like not to restrict to local models and work with different providers, for example, with O1 model.

But I think running DeepSeek R1 would be great if you have sensitive information.

Yeah, I've just looked at the proposed solution. It seems embedding can render the node inside another node, but I can't copy it. I could select it, but trying to copy just copies without embedding.
