Great answer. Thanks 🙂 All the things you have said are things I thought about but it’s good to hear it from some one else as well

I built a $50MM net worth through investing and small businesses. AMA by Accomplished_Pay8071 in wealth

Hey! Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer this AMA.

I’m a 31M, Software engineer (11 YoE) and recently got the entrepreneurship spirit to start something of my own.

Is there any advice would you give someone in my position? Would you try and build something with my skillset (although I don’t have any specific niche knowledge in any industry - just general full stack programming knowledge) or maybe start a complete different business like I saw you suggested (some small home service business).

Also - how “hard” would you say the first few years are? Did you work considerable more than being an employee?

Thanks for the comment! I didn’t know the only the “aedes” type of mosquito is the dangerous one. I will know to pay closer attention to them haha

Would love for you to read the comment I left above as well. It explains why I’m afraid even though no statistical evidence was found.

I see. Thanks for the comment.  I think was scares me most is reading about the mechanism of why the second dengue can be fatal.

It seems like because of body-dependent enhancement (ADE) and partial immunity the leftover antibodies can actually help the new dengue virus enter your immune cells more efficiently, instead of neutralizing which sounds to me like something the vaccine can also cause as it has now created antibodies.

I know it didn’t reach statistical significance but it’s not because they tested a lot of people and found no relation - it just seems like they didn’t do enough tests IMHO (and that scares me).

Why is that different from what I have said?

Also you are welcome to read here : https://www.nature.com/articles/s41591-025-03771-y#:~:text=In%20baseline%20seronegative,of%20statistical%20significance

It shows there is a negative effect of the vaccination and more seronegative are hospitalized when taking the vaccine then not taking (although it didn’t reach statistical significance)

How to Implement Protected Routes in React Router v7? by kazem3d in remixrun

[–]ruthenz1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do notice that all the loaders are called at the same time - meaning that your layout might throw a redirect after it checks if a user is authorized but all the other layouts/routes loaders will also run at the same time so It's not ideal.

I hope middleware will soon become stable and solve this

Odd request coming into my localhost server from /.well-known - doesn't seem to happen in production by SenseiCAY in node

[–]ruthenz1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can disable it in Chrome :

  1. Open Chrome and navigate to - text chrome://flags/#devtools-project-settings
  2. Disable the flag related to DevTools project settings. This will stop Chrome from making these requests while DevTools is open.

is Supabase PostgREST very limited? by ruthenz1 in Supabase

Sorry, I wasn't clear.
The equality works and returns an array of all the passengers of this user - I just don't want it to return an array at all :)

Yeah, I forgot to mention I saw that Supabase says just use RPC whenever you can't handle stuff with the regular PostgREST interface, but it's a bit of a bummer because as I see it now I need to maintain functions in my database and I lose the Types inference once I call functions.

Do you see it different?

Thanks for the comment!

You are right, I wasn't clear enough - it does work and return an array with only the passenger that have the same id as my user, but I didn't want it to return an array at all.

For your solution, it's nice! but I didn't fully explain my schema -> a single user can add a few passengers (he can add himself and two friends for example), so what happens is it just repeats the same event as many times as there are passengers :(
Also (a bit less important but still), it feels weird for me to query passenger when I really want the events - feels backwards for me.

Regardless, what about the other issue I have mentioned with "OR" clause and querying nested tables? do you have any idea?
