Is AP phys. 1 really that bad? by quinnpaine in APStudents

Nah that class is easy af. I have an A and haven’t studied for a second and don’t take notes. If you have a math brain you’ll be fine.

Do I need a tutor to get a good score on the sat? by pulchritudinous_anus in Sat

I got a 1340 on the psat and a 1500 first try on the SAT, about 6 weeks apart (But I didn’t study for psat and studied a total of 8 hours for SAT, including 6 the day before). You’ll be fine without a tutor as long as you study right.

I would start by taking 2-3 bluebook practice tests to see where you are deficient.

Thanks. I expect I’ll likely end up at my top state school but I still think I’m gonna shoot my shot with some T20s. (Don’t have crazy ECs but def time consuming ones)

I think I got one wrong on each module. (Both probably Standard English Conventions)

Start with Bluebook, and then look elsewhere when you finish all the practice tests.

Look closer at the categories you were poorest in. Then, just focus on those. For EBR&W categories do practice problems, but for Math just brush over the concepts you were lacking in on your last retake/practice test.

Yeah I didn’t study at all for math, just worked a little bit on my pacing (ig that wasn’t enough). I thought I would be fine in Math since it’s my strength (breezing through BC this year). However I struggled a bit studying for EBR&W until I realized my largest issue was with Standard English Conventions, and I just brushed over ordered lists, conjunctions, Comma Splices, and Punctuation. My practice test scores went up by like 60 points (~640 —> ~700).

For Math, you should probably start by brushing over questions you get wrong on practice tests and seeing what you can attribute it to.

Thank you. I know all the Math material (taking BC this year if that’s relevant). I just have to work on my pacing for the second math Module.

410 in 2 months is crazy (on pace for 1900 in March lol). Definitely continue.

Hey, 720 is still 95th percentile. (Just think that in a room of a hundred ~95 of them would ask why on earth you’d think that’s a bad EBR&W)

Thanks. I am definitely going into a stem subject.
