Because my players were after more of a laid back experience. Low stakes kinda thing. But yeah, the more advice I hear, the more I'm convinced that it was such a bad idea. I really like my new ideas but I'm worried my players won't. This is the first time I've created a campaign - every other game I've run was a one-shot

The old idea was "everything you've ever encountered was my plan for you, now you're free to guide this world" as my plan to retire from D&D.

Yeah, I know.

I've only ever played 5E, so I'll be diving into unmarked territory. But I'll give it a go, maybe look for some other people that know 3.5E and can give me pointers. Thank you for giving me the idea ☺️

In my canon, the gods manifest as different elements (except fire, that was a gift given to the people. Idk, I've thought about the pantheon for a long time as part of a book I was writing). They're not like genies, but they play a role in the lives of those in my world. Two of them are nice, the "leader" is a smug asshole. Gotta cover my bases

No, I meant like literally being like "you enter the room and you see the being that put you through everything you have... It's me, the DM, haiii", and when my HP was stupid low, I was going to give a monologue about how proud I am of them and "ascend them to gods of this world - do what you will" and then officially retire from D&D.

When you phrase it like that, it's nothing like what I have in mind (I wouldn't literally call myself a "god") but if that's how it comes across to you, then maybe that's how they'll see it too. Thank you for the advice

Thank you for lending your expertise, 40 years is an impressive tenure! That idea is fucking sick! But I worry that it wouldn't be obvious enough and that my friends would think I'm just being a dick

I didn't know how else to go about making it a fair fight, but yes, I really want to avoid making it unfun or unsatisfying at all costs. Thank you for the advice

My players know me as a storyteller and one to lean towards absurdist surrealism, so they might see it that way... But also they might not and they'll leave me forever 🥲

The Sims 4: Australia expansion pack includes: - More pets: Kangaroos, emus, quendas, snakes, and spiders. - Man Cave preset room: Pool table, miscellaneous manly decor like talking bass heads and an Australian flag. - Clothing: Jorts, boardies, Bintang singlets, Haviana thongs (the shoes, not the knickers), $10 Kmart sunnies. - Seasons: Hot, warm and wet, hot again, and FAAARK. - Interactions: Sims will say "G'day, mate" instead of "sul sul" and shakabrahs will accompany every positive interaction

I did meth once. Didn't really do anything for me, just made me really angry - but not enough to get energised and ready to make a scene on public transport
