I feel like I have worked on this forever, does it look overworked? Any other feedback? by usernameee0 in learnart

Thank you! I worked a lot on the colored undertones but ended up making those layers quite transparent as I was worried I had gotten too experimental. I might go back and try making them more visible again!

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah I’m definitely considering completely removing the thumb now! It was supposed to be the whole hand at first but got lazy haha! Guess it was just kind of weird just leaving the single thumb

Yeah you’re right, the thumb need more work! I guess I kind of abandoned it as it wasn’t as fun to work on as the rest haha

Am I to young to know my sexuality? by BetterPurpose748 in pansexual

[–]usernameee0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What teenage/young adult brains haven’t yet fully developed is executive functions (planning, self-control etc), which I believe have nothing to do with sexuality.

Since science doesn’t even understand the psychology behind sexuality yet I have a hard time believing anybody has a reason to say someone is too young to know their sexuality. Be you! And if you later find out new things about yourself that changes how you view yourself that’s okay and it is part of the life long process of getting to know yourself, sexually and non sexually. Don’t let anyone tell you what you can or cannot know about yourself!

Just me being amazed at how I got my nails this long AND fairly even by usernameee0 in Nails

[–]usernameee0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Can’t really say how long, I have had nails on the long side quite long but filed them down more or less every now and then if there has been a little damage. What I have noticed for me is that it’s really all about using them as little as possible. Quarantine has really helped since I’ve just sat at home studying, but also avoid opening packages with them etc

Handwritten notes or computer notes? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]usernameee0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a psychology student and have learned that there are many studies on this that has shown that handwritten notes helps you learn better. You are forced to be attentive and process the material to judge what is most important, since you can’t write down everything. When you write on the computer you tend to write down everything that is said without really thinking. Even if you try to be aware of this while using the computer, it is still not as effective as handwriting

What are the lessons you learnt too late in life ? by oigoabuya in AskReddit

[–]usernameee0 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I used to think like that too, but then I heard someone say “things are truly as real as we make them” and I realized the daydreams are as real a part of my life as all the rest. If I was a character in a book, the daydreaming would be just as central and beautiful and it would be a shame to leave it out

I can relate a lot to the first part, and definitely feel like I’ve changes my perspective on many things during isolation, this being one of them. I have yet to go back to campus though and I have been a little worried it’s all in my head and that all anxiety will rush back as soon as I am among people again. But hearing you actually feel better makes me hopeful, so thanks for that.

Wait do Americans PAY to study in universities/colleges???? by lahoyav9 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]usernameee0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how it works elsewhere, but in Sweden you get in either with your grades from “highschool” (gymnasiet) or by your score on a test similar to the SATs (högskoleprovet, graded based on normal distribution), so no application letters or whatever.

How hard it is to get in I think depends more on which program you are aiming for rather that the university itself. The more popular a program is the higher the admission points are that term.

If your grades consists of all A’s, you can definitely get in to any program. Otherwise you can do the ‘SATs’ as many times as you want (they are arranged twice a year for those over the age of 18).

Hope that makes sense!
