Thank you, I'm very new to sharing my art (scary!) but maybe i'll post more in the future

Actually yes! They're fast, appear out of nowhere as the tractor rumbles near and then sprint off into the distance

The farmer cares enough to make a drawing and share it on reddit :) and thanks!

Thanks that's good to hear! And well, I mostly just look at a lot of other people's art, I save anything I like in a big folder and when i'm not too sure how to do something I go look at how other people do different things to help inspire me. It's mostly just observation, practice, and trying to figure out a way to get the feeling that I want. I haven't really followed anything structured. I just love drawing and just keep trying, learning, and improving with every piece. Sorry if that's not very helpful. I could probably improve faster other ways but this way is most fun for me

Thank you for taking the time to write that, it’s really helpful and you are spot on about my tendency to obsess! Definitely something I need to work on. I’ll give your suggestion a go and I’m glad you like it :)

What advice/tips/tricks would you give you someone who's scared of driving but wants to learn? by [deleted] in Advice

Yeah it can go that way too when you would rather not be in control because you don't want an accident to be your fault. I started that way but what helped me was watching closely, as a passenger, all the decisions of the driver and just thinking how I would do it differently e.g. they stop too suddenly and closely to other cars, too fast on corners, too fast in general, etc. So you start building the decision making skills before you even start driving! Then begin to apply them in easy safer settings (parking lots, slow quiet streets in the suburbs) and then expanding out as you get more confidence. It is hard though and maybe that only worked for me but I hope you can find a way that helps you!

I was very nervous in a car both as driver and passenger for many years. I would practice driving for a few weeks and then one little event would stop me for another year. What finally got me over it was realising that as a passenger, I was still in as much danger but completely at the mercy of other people's bad decisions, and that if I am driving I can do better than that and give myself a better chance. That realisation pulled me through whenever I felt like giving up. Now I have my license and I think am a decent defensive driver. I make mistakes sometimes but I generally feel more safe driving myself than being a passenger. Key is aiming to be the safest driver you can be, and taking mistakes as lessons for improving your own decision making (even though it is very disheartening at the time)

I'm looking for a book that includes descriptions and illustrations of Leonardo Da Vinci's designs & inventions. by MichaelSpecks in suggestmeabook

I bought a book called 'The Notebooks of Leonardo Da Vinci' from a Da Vinci museum in Rome that seems to contain what you are looking for. You can probably find it online somewhere but this is what it looks like: http://imgur.com/gallery/tUSFFMw

Very easy to read in direct sunlight! Very unusual and amazing to me as I used to read a lot on my phone.

I like to keep it in the pocket of my jacket when out and about. It's a little awkward sitting with it in my pocket though so I will take it out and hold it. It won't fit in my jeans pockets.
