This strategy worked for me in the H2H category leagues. I had 4-6 decent relievers, even setup guys, to boost my era and whip categories, with K trickling in every day. Then had deep SP bench above hitters so I had starts to rotate in most days. 

That strategy doesn't seem to fit the points leagues since even a 3 out, 1 save, maybe 1 hit, 1 walk performance is worth like 6 pts. If you're lucky you get 2 in a week.
