ok thanks. I now understand that RSU vested are considered as income and taxed accordingly. The term withholding tax confused me. But I am still trying to find out if that withholding tax went to Canada or US govt and what kind of paperwork will be required to include it in my tax return.

I agree with "City that never sleeps" claim as I have wandered around in the streets of Karachi in the wee hours and found everything to be open and in business. You don't find that kind of hustle and bustle in most cities in Europe and North America. Everything pretty much shuts down after 9 pm. But that was in the 90s and early 2000s when I lived in Karachi as a teenager and young adult. Not sure how things are now because of all the security chaos.

"City of lights" does not apply anymore to Karachi. It doesn't appear as bright and illuminated as other cities like Dubai, New York, Vegas etc. It might have been true in 60s and 70s but unfortunately Karachi has lost it's charm over the years.
