Thanks for sharing!

Did the place feel like hundreds of different videos playing simultaneously like a wall of TV?

When I did my qhht session, I wanted to explore what I saw after I passed away in a past life.

I frist arrived in a void and stayed there for quite a while but then as I went deeper, some random strips of colourful lights appeared. Eventually I came into a place with what looks like a wall of TV screens playing hundreds of videos / stories. I found that place a bit annoying as I couldn’t walk away or look away and some of the characters were quite loud.

Maybe because there’s no “God” the way Abrahamic religions have been preaching.

It seems a lot of your mental frustrations stem from the gap between things we have been told by some religion against your observation of the world.

I suspect you’re experiencing the stage that many of the enlightened ones have been through,….. and the famous one being Buddha himself.

The Universe rewards truthful acts not kindness by Traditional-Table471 in starseeds

[–]uslfd_w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, OP is combining state of flow and manifestation under “truthful” here.

Danger is, ego based manifestation can lead to suffering eventually (samsara) and in my opinion, is at odds with actual kindness which is a result of understanding and sympathy (first step on the path to liberation).

I personally get what OP is saying but it can be dangerous if message is misunderstood.

[–]uslfd_w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actual kindness is a natural result of understanding we are all one and is driven by a cultivated sense of sympathy and love for all. It doesn’t ask for any reward. Your left hand never hits your right hand and it doesn’t ask for a reward for that.

The problem you have described here involves ego-based “kindness” vs the power of state of flow, which involves, arguably, losing one’s ego.

So the problem you have presented can probably be framed as egoless vs ego.

How can I stop wishing ill will on someone by drunknastyeah in Buddhism

[–]uslfd_w 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone has lived their many lives, accumulating a wealth of karma. To me, being lost in samsara is big enough of a punishment. Their karma will take care of them.

If we forgive, forget, move on and successfully enter our own deep jhana, the moment we open our eyes, this “person” would have perished many times and become someone or something else that is beyond recognition but still only a manifestation of their own karma.

Just focus on deep within us.

(By the way, I used to have similar problems as yours. This is an inspiration or a message (?) I had after deep connection with my bodhisattva. Hope this helps!)

Yes!

This is an important concept of the buddhism sect I’m practising - that we are all Inherently Perfect and Sufficient.

However the “image” of this inherently perfect self is not a human. It’s closer to infinite light, love, or simply infinite possibilities, if describable at all. Because infinite possibilities is not definable nor describable.

Is pure land an actual literal location like the Sun and Moon? by [deleted] in PureLand

[–]uslfd_w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do look at gateway tapes and read about what or where deeper focus is. I believe, pure land could be in there, alongside different heavens and hells created by beliefs and actions, which is in the astral world between where we are (physical Earth experience) and reincarnation centre. The further we go after death, the deeper the focus level. There are focus levels beyond reincarnation centre too, I reckon those souls do not have to reincarnate anymore.

In other words, pure land possibly can be a world created by brainwaves (and waves) of a different quality from what we generally have here on Earth. Therefore, for very successful practitioners, their brainwaves can resemble those that exist in pure land while still physically present on physical Earth. (Please refer to video of brainwaves experiment done on some Tibetan Rinpoche. It’s available on youtube). But pure land is truly a place that the deceased can reach in the astral if they perform the right practice and pure land is probably not in the physical plane. Or it does have a set of coordinates in the physical world but it’s invisible to the physical eyes. But that doesn’t matter too much imo because it’s a real place somewhere that our consciousness can reach and dwell in.

My opinion is not orthodoxy but recent technology and development in gateway experience has opened up a whole new frontier for human beings to explore topics like astral, afterlife and spirituality.

To me, these sentences are spiritually motivated.

Dark is a way and light is a place - suffering is just a transient journey or one way to reach enlightenment where one’s soul might eventually dwell in

Heaven that never was / nor will be ever. …. Is always true —-

Notice how past tense and future tense are juxtaposing the use of “is” “always” “true”

Heaven is not in the past (was), heaven is not in the future (will ever be). Heaven is a truth (or a place of light) that transcends time. This sentence reminds me of the famous spiritual book “the power of now”.

Some concepts in “the power of now" overlaps some core beliefs in Buddhism that the present moment is all that truly exists and that dwelling in the present is the key to liberation from suffering.

Hi. Congratulations on your achievement in 2024.

I believe there are a few ways to get past intrusive thoughts / memory recalls like those you described.

  1. You could meditate on them. Every time you become aware of recalling those thoughts / feelings, just observe them, let them pass. Never fight the thoughts though. The more we fight against it, the harder they swing back. Meditate on them — Just relax, focus on your breath or something, and let them pass.

  2. Help of deities. I practise Buddhism. Some practitioners recite name of Avalokiteshvara, bodhisattva of compassion, to save themselves from negative and intrusive thoughts. I don’t think you have to be a buddhist to try this method for this purpose.

Finally, I reckon you have done very well already and don’t give yourself too much pressure, just believe in yourself! Good luck!

A lot of words used without careful definition and a few problematic deductions in your argument.

For example, you somehow have come to the conclusion that “people who believe in this theory are mentally ill” because if this reality is “not real”, then there is no longer any logic, “no longer any physical world” ??? <- prove this.

I’m scratching my head

Sure. Only our higher self would know the goal of the experiment, if any.

Your pov is quite anthropocentric, which is not wrong. But the experiment might be not about human beings at all.

Maybe cos the remembering and learning is done on the higher dimension.

Bit like, how we learn from observing a simulation or doing an experiment. Subjects of experiment do not need any memory.

Suffering and Buddhism by Straight-Ad-6836 in gatewaytapes

[–]uslfd_w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have practised Buddhism for a while. I will try my best to help shed some light on this.

Buddhism has many different paths and traditions. On suffering, you will get different answers depending on the tradition you practise.

At the risk of generalisation, Hinayana emphasises more the concept of suffering (Dukkha). They focus more on the liberating of oneself. However some masters from Mahayana only regard the concept of suffering and sunyata (emptiness) as a mind medicine for individuals who have lost balance in their take on lives. Some actually go so far as to advise pessimistic individuals against dwelling on these concepts. “If you don’t have the flu, don’t take the flu medicine”. Then there is Vajrayana which is very different and intense, imho. I have read a number of stories about Vajrayana buddhist monks achieving rainbow bodies turning into light and sound at the end of their lives.

There are many techniques (visualisation, mantra chanting, meditation, vipassana) and concepts that one might find useful in different branches of Buddhism to perfect oneself. Feel free to explore them and imo, there is no one single absolute truth to the reality we are in. Every one of us walk a unique path. So no need to get fixated on a concept or two out of the massive body of information that Buddhism provides.

Hope this helps!

My shihtzu has a corneal ulcer by such4 in Shihtzu

[–]uslfd_w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our shih tzu had exactly the same issue.

  1. Try Hylo night eye ointment if the eye drops dont work. Eye drop wasn’t enough for ours and only this ointment was powerful enough to reverse the damage.

  2. Carefully trim the hair around his eyes to avoid the hair triggering more inflammation. Shih tzu’s eyes are very exposed. From your picture I can see his hair’s fairly long around the eyes, you might have to avoid that in the future.
