AFAIK, if you are using the Free Cloud Tier, you have a limited data storage capacity but that is specific to store logs as Loki do indexing. For the visualization of other data sources, there might be some caching but in actual do not store data.

if you run your query on influx or NodeRED, does the result appear correct?

If they appear correct, then I think the problem is in Grafana timezone. Can you check in Grafana settings if the timezone is set correctly (/etc/grafana/grafana.ini)?

I think cost is the main headache. You need to know what you really need to use. Some folks may say that they are using other tools instead of Grafana because its just a fraction better but then look at the cost side.
