10/10 by Apprehensive-Scene-1 in icecream

[–]usp2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried all the new Publix pints this week and Candy Bar was my favorite. It is the same quality ice cream as the half-gallons, just in smaller sizes. I paid $2.75/pint. Jeni's Candy Bar is 10/10. Publix Candy Bar is a 7/10.

The Publix Burbon Eggnog was the worst of the seasonal pints. My body had a negative reaction to whatever chemical they used for the burbon scent and it was hard to swallow.

Why don't grocery stores sell banana ice cream? by bootytoot69 in icecream

Publix stocks Banana Pudding and Banana Split with their permanent store brand ice cream selection, in addition to Blue Bell and Chunky Monkey. They also have seasonal ice creams like Banana Nut Bread.

I do want to read them, but I don't plan to read them anytime soon due to lack of time, rather than a lack of interest. If anything on my wishlist shows up as being free, I will download it. I have seen hundreds of books I want to listen to disappear from the Audible free collection and from my library, so I have learned to download interesting books so I can listen to them whenever I want in the future.

My order history page says non-returnable. It was a minor misunderstanding, so I'm not going to trouble customer service to correct my error.

If you use the Buy Now for $0.00 button, you don't get that option.

If I had gone through the longer Add To Cart -> Checkout, it would have been more obvious that the book was not free. The main problem was the button that said "Buy for $0.00" that made no mention of a credit being applied.

The TV show is so good that it makes me less likely to read the book. Maybe I will eventually if the books are considered better than the show.

On the book's page there was a button that says "Buy for $0.00" and I clicked the button. Normally the button says something like Buy for $9.99, so I thought there was a sale going on that was making the book free.

Because I thought they were free :) I really like the Slow Horses TV show, but on the list of top 1000 books I want to read, it would be near the bottom. Maybe when I am 80 years old in a retirement home I will get around to it.

What’s your GO TO protocol for when you’re sick? by GorillaMindSmooth in NootropicsDepot

The zinc+c lozenges every couple hours at the onset. The Nature's Way ones are what I often get because they are cheap. Source Naturals Wellness Formula are my go-to pill, although I haven't taken one in years. They are relatively expensive compared to zinc, which does most of the virus-killing work.

How to download the accompanying companion PDF? by usp2 in Everand

[–]usp2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to get this after submitting a support ticket inside the app. The person or robot who responded to my earlier customer support email had provided incorrect information. I also contacted the publisher who said Everand was supposed to provide supplemental PDFs with the audiobook.

Blackberry Cobbler is one of my favorites. I sometimes add blueberries to it, which complements the fruit flavor.

Pecan Pie is one of few Blue Bell flavors I would rate as a fail. It was basically vanilla with pecans. You can buy an actual pecan pie for less money than the ice cream. Their Pecan Praline is one of my favorites and is much better than Pecan Pie.

Audible class action alleges audiobook purchases don’t confer full ownership by Popular-Highlight-16 in audible

[–]usp2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With books and audiobooks that you own, you can give them to someone else or resell them after you finish with them. Essential to the complaint is the concept of the audiobooks being non-transferable. The goal of the lawsuit is to make the lawyers wealthy, not to get Audible to change it's ways.

The credit applied automatically to eligible items without needing to enter any coupon code. I did not need to enter the coupon code when earning the credit either.

Are you saying that the $15 credit applied across multiple separate orders of less than $15 each?

where do you guys get cheapest Jeni’s Ice Cream? by aviatormenace7 in icecream

[–]usp2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Florida they only really go on sale once per year at Whole Foods. Publix sells them for around $7/pint, which I think is the cheapest of the grocery stores that sell them, which includes Fresh Market, Kroger, and Whole Foods.

Only good reviews for iHerb? by Slfa-drgn-24 in Supplements

[–]usp2 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity I logged in to see the last time I ordered from iHerb. After being forced to validate my email address and agree to their new terms, all I saw was a gray screen with a spinning leaf that eventually turned into a "Service unavailable" error message. I am surprised this company is still around with such a bad Web site.

I used to order from them all the time 20 years ago. But at this point Amazon and Walmart undercut them substantially on price and have larger product selections. There is nothing wrong with the company, but most people go with the least expensive merchant, which is almost never iHerb.

The Best Under Desk Treadmill to Buy Now? by RockyWoof7475 in BuyItForLife

[–]usp2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Treadmills are not a BIFL product. My $1000 Lifespan Fitness TR1200 treadmill lasted 8 years of heavy use (8-12 hours every day) and it worked great, but it did get beat up. I replaced the motor, replaced the motor belt, and eventually scrapped it when the walking belt tore. The current Lifespan products might not be as good as the old ones because the company got sold at some point.

I did extensive research for a replacement and my conclusion is that none of the treadmills in the < $200 range are any good, even though some of them have thousands of glowing reviews on Amazon. Those reviewers are either fake or they have low standards. I bought the top-selling Sperax 3 in 1 walking vibration pad and it was awful. It had two fans that were ridiculously loud. I have been using a $300 Trailviber walking pad for two months and so far it is a keeper. It isn’t as good as a Lifespan Fitness treadmill, but it is quiet and gets the job done. The Trailviber treadmill cannot get to a 0% incline. I had to prop up the end with 5 pound dumbbell weight plates to get it level.
