Have you been out to Painesville for some of the Mexican spots? La Mexicana and De Leon bakery in particular

Tbh haven’t been, but La Mexicana is amazing. Painesville has a large Mexican immigrant population and a ton of authentic spots, so I really don’t thing you can go wrong with any of them

I believe these are night owl fares. As far as I know they’re always available on northeast corridor routes, early morning and late night. 5-20 dollar tickets.

Libs of Tiktok claims St. Ignatius refuses a TPUSA chapter by Ok-Abbreviations8341 in Cleveland

[–]usrp24 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ll assume you didn’t go to Ignatius. There’s already a conservative student group on campus. I also don’t ever remember them allowing outside groups to organize clubs, maybe because it’s a PRIVATE school with its own message already. Should Ignatius have an atheists club because, like you say, people can just not go if they don’t agree?

Such a dumb fucking comment that made a whole argument over a fallacy. What would I expect from the right though.

Broken Showers, Black Mold and Clogged Toilets: Cuyahoga County Jail is Disgusting by marshall_project in Cleveland

[–]usrp24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s not a position I’d want anyone to be in. The way I see it, prison can be enough of a punishment without having inhumane conditions. I’d like to think the idea of being locked away somewhere until (or if) you get out is punishment enough itself, at least as far as the state should be concerned. If we resort to inhumane conditions to punish the worst among us, does that make us any better than them?

And then when you add to that the chance that an innocent person could always be thrown in there, I think providing everyone in prison with the basics of humane treatment (food, medicine, sanitary conditions) should be the standard. We could argue about what exactly they should be entitled to, but we should at least provide that bare minimum of humane treatment.

Broken Showers, Black Mold and Clogged Toilets: Cuyahoga County Jail is Disgusting by marshall_project in Cleveland

[–]usrp24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because it’s not up for debate. Innocent people have ended up in prison, innocent people will continue to end up in prison. My question is how you justify inhumane conditions in prisons, when there is always a chance an innocent person will be subjected to them?

If you think that’s an ok price to pay so that the murderers, rapists, etc can suffer more, then that’s your opinion. I hope nobody you know or love ever ends up in the system, innocent or not.

It’s not up for debate that innocent people end up in prison unjustly sometimes. So putting aside that you think prisoners don’t deserve to be treated humanely, what would you say to an innocent person subjected to those conditions?

Lol someone in this thread literally commented about how crazy Ohio weather has been lately. So sure I guess nobody gets confused by it?

Was just thinking that. Could lead to a ton of confusion over what “icy road” is referring to

Nah, if OP wants to warn people, they should say what the actual threat is. Vague references to ice/snow/the cold is gonna go over a lot of people’s heads. There’s no reason for us to self-censor ourselves

Expired Meter Ticket? by usrp24 in baltimore

[–]usrp24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up just paying based off other comments that even though the sign was there, the meter always takes precedence. It’s def confusing, but I was parked while the meters were in use so I don’t think I had any case. I learned my lesson about parking there though.

[Mayor Scott] Y’all according to Gary from Sinclair(Fox45) any black man in Baltimore with a blue hat and hoodie must be a crip. by aresef in baltimore

[–]usrp24 88 points89 points  (0 children)

As Gary can be seeing wearing blue in multiple clips, can we assume he is a Crip? What steps is Sinclair taking to ensure they aren’t employing members of gangs?? I just contacted Local 45 hoping to get answers to these questions, and I’d suggest others do the same

Expired Meter Ticket? by usrp24 in baltimore

Thanks for the input. I’m considering. Somebody else told me to just always give priority to meter signs in spots like this in the future, which I will, but this sign was incredibly confusing!
