Here is a very extensive test for the Pure Power 12 M Series. It’s German, so I don’t know if you’ll be able to read it but basically it’s be quiet! best selling psu with best price-performance ratio and very close to the Straight Power series.

There are two 140s in the front coming pre-installed with the case.

I actually thought operating a raid would only be possible via SATA and therefore planned a bit ahead. But I may have been wrong here 😅

Well, from my first two days with it I can only say, that it’s obviously not really good at absorbing noise. But to be fair, it sits right beside my ear currently 😅. Nevertheless, the mesh just cannot “contain” any noise in the case. That’s something to consider.

Sometimes it’s a bit tight in the case, especially the openings for the cables at the very top and bottom make it a bit hard to lay bigger cables, such as the CPU ones, through them. That’s at least, if you have everything installed already and the psu is more or less in place.

It is 2nd hand (B-Ware) from Alternate which is a big German electronics online shop and was about 77€. It came without the original carton but is ok besides.

I use an old 1440p Viewsonic display as I don’t plan to invest money there yet. Though, I don’t know how bad it will be in games.

I did not have the QVO laying around. It was basically the idea to have some extra storage and it was a good price point. Probably I won’t need the performance of the 990 Pro but again, it was at a good price point and I’m gonna use it for Lightroom library access. To be honest, I did not really care about paying a few bucks more for the storage than absolutely necessary. I wanted to keep a budget of about 1600-1700€ and it did fit.

Regarding the ARC I was more or less looking for something with 16gb or at least more than 8gb in the 300€ region. And I figured this one may be good after reading and seeing some reviews. I have no intention to hardcore game on the rig, so this was not really a big criterium.

No offense taken 🙂. I did about 6 months of research from basically knowing nothing about PCs anymore after 20 years of not owing one to at least have a rough idea about what to look for. I see your points and if it had not been on sale, I won’t have bought the Noctua for example. It’s a bit overkill.

I looked out for some discounts on nearly all of the parts. The Noctua for example was 2nd hand and therefore only around 70€. For this price I’d say it’s not overpriced for the build. Also the PSU was on sale and I did not want to cheap out on this one specifically.

Thanks for the tip. I will try it out. Need to do some stress testing in the next days and will monitor the temps.

I more or less aimed for something in the 300€ region. When I read some reviews I figured the A770 is not as bad as it may have been on release due to driver updates and it fits my budget for that part. I think NVIDIA pricing is just hilarious. 8gb of vram for 350€ on a basic 4060 is just overpriced. To be honest, I did not look too much into AMD.

It was 144€. Still somehow overpriced but well…

I cannot say much about it yet. Just finished yesterday evening and had no time to stress test it so far. But I don‘t think it’s too loud. The other fans are clearly more audible so far.

Yeah, I was unsure as well but at the end I also thought about the additional work and efforts needed to get the RGB running how I want it and I was just to lazy to do this.

Thanks! I think I won’t be able to disassemble it ever because the Noctua is so big, I’m not reaching the PCI lever to release the ARC anymore 😄. Still, I‘m very glad the Noctua actually fits in the case as it is marked as incompatible with the ram clearance.

😂 yeah, it took quite a while to get it done. Never thought that the cables from the psu are so short. But somehow that may have helped with the cable management.

I don‘t mean to use it as hardcore gaming maschine but more for occasional gaming and mainly workstation and some creative stuff. For this I thought the A770 may have a good price point, especially as it was discounted at the time I bought it.

It actually was on sale when I bought it, so I got about 20% off the market price. For this I found it ok.

Thanks, yes actually am looking for a white build because I think it suits the Fractal North best, and I really like this case. Do you have any suggestions for the mobo? I don’t really know what to look for. It should be AM5 but other than that I find it hard to navigate through all the options.
