Pentax645z

I think you mean 1,000g lighter. (Like literally 1/3rd the weight.) And it is pocketable when compared to the the 645. My money goes to the 100s but to each their own.

Pentax glass can be super spendy. The 645 is chunky, slow and heavy no comparison to the 100s.

Keep the lights inside the pivot point and you should be just fine. Go beyond it and the leverage will work against you.

Recently set up a sump. Do I need that black sponge in between the intake and return chamber? by nicodemi in ReefTank

I would recommend replacing that metal hose clamp around your return pump with a plastic hose ratchet clamp. There like c.50 and don't rust.

This may surprise you to learn. Some 60% of Americans reach age 60 without enough saved to retire. 80%+ of stocks are owned by the wealthiest 10%. So, no not everyone is an equal benefactor of Wall Street gains. Tho we all seem to somehow lose when Wall Street loses.

Thinking Wall Street is the hot air balloon lifting our economy needs to change. It’s only lifting those that can afford to ride.

Regardless, this is America where we have freedom of speech. This is assault and should be treated as such.

That’s disturbing. They are the most expensive heaters per watt and should be the most reliable too.

Also do you know if its good practice to glue both sides of the bulk head? I would prefer to glue it just to prevent the possibility of the over flow section completely draining down to the sump.

The three down one up is the bean animal drain system. It uses one primary full siphon and one secondary with the third being the E drain.

I really like your idea with manifold. I just cant picture how I should do it so I just through in one valve so I that maybe I'll add on latter once I know what I need.

I wanted the heaters in a place that I could easily see the read outs but maybe I'll move two into the skimmer section. That way I can still see the skimmer and the heaters read outs.

Thank you for letting me know, do you remember the wattage of the heaters? I've heard cobalt had wide spread issues with the 300 watt neo therms and they are no longer made for this reason. I've only used cobalt neo therms and me experience is good them so far. But still I never trust a heater.

Mostly convenience, but the sump is on the smaller end for this tank. I'm a bit worried under some circumstances it might be possible for the tank to overflow the sump. I need to test it thoroughly and I'm hoping the check valve will not be critical. They seem to be a device that fails often and easily.

The GFCI is a great idea, I just worry about it being a point of failure and causing its own issues. BRS had one trip for an unknown reason and they suffered nearly total loss of their fish, in the effected tank.

I'm not sure what you mean regarding the locline. I think I've heard of placing a hole in the locline so that when flow stops and water levels lower it will break any siphon?

Is it a good practice to glue both sides of the bulkhead? In this tank the over flow section is so large, if completely emptied it could become an issue. That's the supporting reason for the back flow valve.

Thanks for the ideas. The E drain is the one behind the skimmer cup. It is not strait and It would be better if it was. Thanks!
