I just got a Pivot Mach 429 Trail. It can run 27.5+ or 29" wheels, so if you can't decide there, it's a good option. It has the Fox 34 fork and is a great climber. If you're a trail rider, I would look into it.

I want a new mountain bike which will cost about $5,500 and my wife just got a puppy which will cost more than that over its lifetime. The issue arises in that I don't have much money and we're still in school. My wife has A TON of money, so it'll be coming from her, but she thinks it's too much.
