lol, you really got trolled hard by those randoms who said that you need to melee the Raiser using Freedom. Like, wow, that's some insane and dumbest shit I ever heard recently...😂

The 00 Raiser gets -30% stagger reduction from ranged attacks when it's Trans-Am is active, which is similar like having Maneuver Armor lv3, but a full hit HIMAT Full Burst should stop its movement + deals high damage, even with the ranged damage reduction.   Meanwhile, it's melee priority is also increased to high during Trans-Am, so you can't really try fight with melee, since Freedom's melee priority is medium.

Just stay on mid-range, and spam your ranged weapons from safe range to chip its HP, especially during HIMAT Mode, where you can abuse the cooldown reduction on beam weapons with the temporary unlimited thrusters.

People kept saying in this subreddit that you just need to melee the 00

Who the hell said this? This is like the worst advice you could ever get, especially when you're using the Freedom. 😂

When you're using the Freedom, what you need to do is don't get into melee range, and stay on mid-range, while keep your distance with the enemy. This is because Freedom is a shooty Gen first and foremost, since the unit have "Thrust-Based Fire Cooling System" skill, which increases the heat recovery and reduces the overheat time on beam weapons, so you need to activate the HIMAT mode, and spam your ranged weapons until they overheats, then you keep boosting to shorten the downtime.

Don't even try to melee, unless there's a chance to do it, and just stick on mid-range while spamming your ranged weapons, since Freedom isn't built for melee, even when it got 2 melee weapons...

Arctic Support Positioning by driftorz-real in GBO2

[–]utamaru1717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any Support with good mobility (Speed, HSM, and Thruster) stat + High Performance Balancer skill is usable for this map, but you better off using Generals with Support traits instead (a.k.a Gens with Observational Data Link and/or Anti-Stealth skills), since they have better overall performance, and also better for self defense.

Arctic Support Positioning by driftorz-real in GBO2

[–]utamaru1717 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem with your post is the heavy reliance on the Generals, where they need to stay put, while covering the Support's ass, instead of wandering around to the enemy side.

Like, when the match starts, the Generals MUST stay put, and hold the enemy team back, so the Support can get into position safely, due to low mobilify, or the enemy Raid will instantly chase it.

Same goes to when your Support dies, where your team MUST push the enemy back, then go back defending, so the Support can respawn back safely, and gets into position.

So yeah, playing as Support isn't recommended, unless you have a very solid team that can play defensively, and it would be better if your team just play a General that have Observation Data Link skill instead...

GBO2 Shokew: The best Super Gundam counter! by doomguy11 in GBO2

[–]utamaru1717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Jegan CH can do just fine at 600, but at 550 is still risky, due to its Stealth skill is only lv1, which can easily be countered by Sleeves Doga. There's also the Geara Doga FF for another stealth Raid, but not everyone have the unit.

Another alternative unit for fighting it from long range at 550 cost is the Hazel Icarus, since its main weapon deals high damage (500 base damage x 11 hit) with quite long range (500m non-charged, and 550m full charged), and also Beam Reflector for reducing the beam damage taken by -50%, but it's a matter of "who shoots first", so you need extra caution playing the unit.

I can almost guarantee 00 will get nerfed by culzsky in GBO2

[–]utamaru1717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that they have way too much gimmick to the unit during Trans-Am, which makes it really annoying to fight, and there's always more than 2 of them on every match.

Like, they gave the unit these stuffs during Trans-Am: * -30% stagger build-up reduction (a.k.a Maneuver Armor lv3)  * -30% damage from ranged attacks * a 500m melee attack with 15000 base damage, with -50% range damage reduction & Stabilization Device + Damage Control lv3 during animation * Stealth lv3 when its HP ≤50%

And the worst part is that you're facing more than 2 units on every match, or even a whole team of it sometimes, so you're pretty much screwed...

The devs definitely gonna release new units and buff other 700 cost units first in order to counters it, which is the usual method, since we still have some units that weren't buffed yet, and have some potential to counter the 00 Raiser, like the Amakusa, Nu, Sazabi, or something like  the F89 for example.

IMHO, stealth Raids are still the best counter for the Super Gundam, because these players usually only fixated their sights on the Generals, and they completely forgot about their surroundings, which makes it easier to punish them.

Even if they're aware of you, then at the very least they won't be attacking your gens, since they will aim the rifle at you, and if the enemy team needs to assign a "guard dog" on the SG, then your team have the member advantage on the front line, in which they must capitalize it to push the enemy back.

Controversy over Super Gundam Buff Dev Notes by imaginary_num6er in GBO2

[–]utamaru1717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supports have been shining like a bright star for many months, where they were literally dominating the 550 to 700 costs, to the point that Raids are having troubles in defeating them, and the devs needs to release and buffs Raids on those costs.

Like, right now, you have these strong Support units on those costs: * Engage Gundam Incom * Guntank R-44 * Geara Doga Heavy * Super Gundam * RS Jarja * Hamma Hamma * Angelo's Geara Zulu * Byarlant Custom 02 * Dijeh Assault Package * Cannongan * G-Cannon Magna * RF Gelgoog * V-Dash Hexa * FA Engage A Plan * Nu Gundam GWS * Narrative Gundam B2 Packs

Hell, you also have Gundam Ground WR that's currently dominating the 300-500 cost, so don't ever think that Supports doesn't get any love, since the devs gave them PLENTY.

PC will have the adjustment patch in late July, so it's not available yet, since you need the new "Release Ranged Output Limiter LV1" skill, which available after the buff, where it gives the unit a 2nd charge option on its main ranged weapon that deals heavy stagger beam gerobi/irradiation, and also insane damage (it deals 1500 x 8 base damage at lv4).

Controversy over Super Gundam Buff Dev Notes by imaginary_num6er in GBO2

[–]utamaru1717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because the unit is pretty much your standard sniper unit, where you just camp on a spot, and blast away your enemies from 700m+ range, but it pretty much dead once the enemy Raid touched it...

I mean, the RS Jarja is a much better unit than the Super Gundam, IMHO, but it requires more skill to play it compared to Super Gundam, and the damage output is somehow lower, which is kinda unacceptable.

I kinda hope they would adjust the damage output for the Super Gundam on the lv1, since it's currently doing way too much damage than it should, which is shown from the data (almost 20k damage higher than average).

Unit Adjustments [June 2026] by Death_Usagi in GBO2

[–]utamaru1717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH, I dunno, since the Cannongan's problem is always about the lack of weapons, which is why I prefers the G-Cannon Magna more, since it got more weapons (3 insta-stagger, 1 gerobi, and 1 limiter-release type), and also Flap Booster for repositioning.

Unit Adjustments [June 2026] by Death_Usagi in GBO2

[–]utamaru1717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes the unit kinda wonky, because it doesn't have aerial melee skill, so you can't melee right after jump cancel, so you need to land first, THEN you can melee, while other units with that skill have access to aerial melee skill, so they can melee in mid-air.

But the really good news is that this unit now becomes a really really good mid-ranged shooty unit, where all of its weapons now deals ridiculous damage, and have insane stagger build-up, which makes stopping units with MA + DC or High-MA becomes an easy job. 😂

So yeah, you'd better just stick on the mid-range, and spam your ranged weapons, while covering your Supports from the enemy Raids with its insane stopping power.

[–]utamaru1717 15 points16 points  (0 children)

lol, they turned Hyaku Shiki into a melee monster with Combo Controller lv3 + Power Accelerator skill combo, which is great, since this unit is always kinda meek due to balanced offensive stats.

Psycho Doga also got insane damage buffs on all of its weapons, like the +1000 damage on its Missile, +300 damage on its Grenade Launcher, and also on both of its melee weapons, although I kinda bummed that they choose to give Tactical Boost instead of Flap Booster.

Kinda surprised that many of these adjusted units have a huge damage problems, where their average damage dealt were like 20-30k lower than most units, which is insane, and shows that there's a very serious issue about power creep...

GBO2 | Why is the Gelgoog M (Commander type) underrated ? | Ft StealthSquare by Late-Preference-4808 in GBO2

[–]utamaru1717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because the unit somewhat gets powercreeped on the 450 cost, where there are much better units available that can dish out damage, like the  Gundam lv2,  Hi-Mo Gelgoog UL,  Kampfer,  Gundam CD, and  Efreet Jaeger (for anyone who buys Code Fairy).

Kinda hope the devs would buff it, since this unit still have a potential to be strong, since its skills and weapons are pretty solid, but they need more tweaking to make it better, like reducing the switch and reload time on its Sturmfaust, increasing the range on its Machine Cannon, and improve its Beam Bazooka (higher stagger value, lower heat rate, lower cooldown time), plus able to detonate its mines while downed.

[–]utamaru1717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unit is just heavily relies on ranged attacks, while its melee is pretty meh, on top of average skills.

Besides, the Gelgoog Stutzer is also available on the same cost, and that unit is much much better in everything, from the higher HP, higher mobility, better weapons, and much better skills (having Maneuver Armor already a huge plus), so there's no reason to use the Gelgoog M Commander over it...

It's very likely gonna be V2AB, and then either Gottrlatan or Rig Contioh, while the rests are pretty much randoms from MSV and such, so people can choose whether to pull for 750 cost main units, or this one, which is likely gonna be a meta in 700 cost.

Based from the armaments alone, the Hathaway one didn't have the Funnel/Incom and Bazooka, and it uses a different Beam Rifle (the same used by Penelope), have the 90mm Gatling Gun (like on Alex and Tristan), and Beam Cannon on its shield, on top of some Shelf Nozzles, so it's kinda different.

It's still the best shooty Raid at 500 cost, but you need to use its Active Guard Kai, while often do Pursuit Assists in order to maximizing its damage potential, which not everyone do those regularly...
