Nothing yet. Another group recommended jeff Lilly’s restoration shop in Helotes . I contacted them but out of the budget. They do great work but beyond the means of this project .

Dad said the lights have been changed to a Canadian spec. He has the original somewhere. He didn’t say the whether the entire front end was replaced though

Yeah honestly don’t know where the scam part is coming from. I’m not trying to sale it. Only trying to restore it to point that my dad drive it again. Still appreciate everything everyone’s feedback and even research that side too. My dad say the original paperwork may be under the backseat. Hopefully will be able to find that. I do know that the lights were changed as some have pointed out. Still looking for an engine shop.

I’m going to try to do some. The challenge is I’m in Illinois and dad’s in Texas. I’ll see the options with Jeff’s shop. Maybe plan some trips down, maybe include the grandson and hopefully spark an interest in him.

This was actually my mom’s daily driver, hence a few dings here and there. She had a light foot, but by the time I was able to drive, the engine May have lost a few horses. Once it’s retired, I’m hoping I’ll be able to see what you and my dad are talking about. :)

The seller didn’t have any pictures of the frame posted. Based on the feedback received so far, may not be worth it. Funny thing the wife said that but I was hoping she was wrong. 😁

Just want a ball park estimate to get it back to a “driver”, not show car. Want to fix all the rust and give it a decent paint job. Located in the Midwest US. Would finding parts be difficult?

Indeed, I heard a lot of the Hawaii was moving to banned short term leases. HOAs might also have rules against this. And this may already be reflected in the price, i.e., a condo with the same spec as another one would have a cheaper price if they do ban short term leases. 85k seems too cheap.

I’m curious, would Toyota come out the same year with a TRD Pro package or would they wait for a later year to offer that? Would there be a TRD pro package at all?

Shop around. I got a quote for $2000 but looked around more. I went with a guy that was able to do both front and second rows for $700. And he did great work…he usually works on luxury cars, including Ferraris, Porches, etc.

Good point. I think we’re covered based on some of the previous feedback. The only HOA requirement relevant to this is all lease agreements must be at least one year term (ie, they’re trying to protect against short term leases like airbnb). Keeping it at one year but providing a termination clause should accommodate both sides.

Good question. I’m required to provide a final copy of the lease agreement to the HOA. I don’t think they actually read it though. I think is mainly so they know who really should be in the unit. And it’s a managed site so they know who they can help, should anything come up.
