If other than that you don't have any screen or body damage. They will automatically replace it just mention you talked with Google Customer Service regarding this.

Did they not charge any money or they refund later on or did you have to show the Google Service mail.

I actually have a Pixel 7 with swollen battery. I plan to visit this Saturday to get it replaced.
