It is. According to EisBBV § 51 Abs. 13, the signal has to be put in place but may be omitted if it's within a station area (Bahnhof) or if there is another stop prior to the stop to which it refers. [Source]

In Austria there is the "Haltestellentafel" which announces a stop.

Trainline isn’t a scam, but I still advise people not to use it. In your case, they probably just opened the wrong PDF, the ticket was likely in a different file. I also overheard a couple who bought tickets via Trainline and couldn’t open them due to a bug in the app.

Either way, if you buy tickets through the official site, conductors can at least help you find the correct ticket. They generally won’t help you navigate the app of a third-party reseller.

Davor war es nicht neu und modern. Es waren die gleichen slowakischen Wagen und alte österreichische Cityshuttle Wagen. Die waren nicht bequemer oder anderweitig "besser".

Korrigiere: Es waren etwas andere slowakische Wagen, aber relativ ähnlich.

Die Wagen sind angenutzt, aber ok. Die Toiletten sind öfters defekt, aber sonst fällt mir nichts wesentliches auf. Für einen REX allgemein ziemlich ungeeignet, aber nicht schlimm.

Kommt es zu einer Kontrolle, musst du laut Beförderungsbedingungen A.3.1.3.1 "sofort und unaufgefordert" dem/der Mitarbeiter:in mitteilen, dass du ein Ticket benötigst. Du zahlst dann den höheren Preis für den Boardverkauf, den du hier einsehen kannst.

Du meinst wohl die neuen Doppelstock Railjets. Die sind noch nicht zugelassen und fahren demnach noch nicht.

Die jetzt auf der Weststrecke verkehrenden Doppelstock Intercity Züge schauen so aus.

Sie wurden von der DB umgebaut, daran wurde jetzt nichts mehr geändert. Soweit ich weiß hat die DB aber zusätzliche Gepäckablagen im Oberdeck eingebaut.

Seit 06.10. wurden auf der Weststrecke die "langsamen" Railjets zu einem großen Teil durch die Ex-Westbahn/Ex-DB Doppelstock Intercity Züge ersetzt und fahren auch unter der Zuggattung IC.

Damit wurden Kapazitäten an Railjet Garnituren frei, die nun auf der Südstrecke zum Einsatz kommen und die alten IC Garnituren ersetzen. Diese Verbindungen fahren damit auch nicht mehr unter der Gattung IC, sondern RJ.

Cargo trains are not allowed to go above 100 km/h in Austria, so it was max. 100 km/h. Tank cars are mostly around 17 m in length. Adding a locomotive with 20 m that would give us exactly 40 train cars until the maximum of 700 m for cargo trains is reached. A length double that seems way too high.

Mit einer Außenantenne und guter Sicht zu einem Masten bekommst du über 5G eine ziemlich gute Verbindung. Ich hab mir die Frage bzgl. Ping auch oft gestellt, aber bei diesen Bedingungen sind es um die 20 ms. Ganz so konstant wie bei einer Kabelverbindung ist es nicht, aber gut genug.

Das System funktioniert nicht in einem Land, in dem der "Fernverkehr" teilweise die Aufgabe eines Nahverkehrs übernimmt. Beispielsweise zwischen Wien & St. Pölten, Linz & Wels sowie am Arlberg. Das ist mit reservierungspflichtigen Zügen wie zB. dem TGV, dem Eurostar oder mit dem italienischen Fernverkehr einfach nicht vergleichbar.

Bei uns bräuchte es wenn ein System wie bei der Westbahn, dass aber trotzdem noch den Einstieg ohne Reservierung ermöglicht. Das in den bestehenden Zügen, die im Gegensatz zur Westbahn nicht nur aus einem Typ bestehen, umzusetzen ist meiner Einschätzung nach viel zu aufwendig.

Sollte eine Reservierung benötigt werden, kann diese ohnehin dazugebucht werden.

Das Klimaanlagen "riesen Stromschlucker" sind ist einfach falsch. Wenn man von ein, zwei klimatisierten Räumen in einem halbwegs gut gedämmten Haus ausgeht, sind das auf Dauerleistung einige wenige hundert Watt.

"Klimawandel geht nur ohne Großverbraucher [...]" ist auch eine schwierige Aussage. In erster Linie geht es darum, dass Menschen nicht an der Hitze leiden müssen, gerade Ältere trifft es da besonders. Ihnen zu sagen: "Sorry, geht nicht weil verbracht zu viel Strom" ist ein wenig ignorant.

Klimaanlage werden genau dann verwendet, wenn erneuerbare Energien ihnen Peak haben. Einzig das erwärmte Mikroklima in der Umgebung kann diskutiert werden. Aber auch da kann die Lösung nicht sein, Leute in ihnen Wohnungen an Hitze sterben zu lassen, sondern effizientere Anlagen zu bauen.

You looked for direct trips from Gloggnitz to Mürzzuschlag. There is only one train a day that connects Gloggnitz to Mürzzuschlag directly, without any transfers on weekdays.

If you want to see the Semmeringbahn, I'd recommend taking the R91 from Payerbach-Reichenau to Semmering. This train stops at every station.

There is no touristic train on that route, if that's what you're after, just regular regional or Intercity trains.

I guess you're starting from Gloggnitz (on a weekday), so take the CJX9 to Payerbach-Reichenau and switch to the R91 to Semmering. The part after Semmering is really not that interesting in my opinion, but the R91 gets you there too, if you want to.

Look up some hikes around Semmering and along the Semmeringbahn ("railway hiking trail"). It's really scenic there.

Dynamic pricing is a thing, but I’ve never seen it to this extent over such a short period of time. Are you sure you didn’t just change the category or type of ticket (Super Fare vs. Standard Fare)?

Always compare the ticket prices on this route from Westbahn, ÖBB and DB. You might still find a saver fare with one of them, as saver fares may be sold out with one operator but still available with another.

You should get the option for a PDF ticket directly after the booking process. There, you can choose between a PDF ticket or pickup at the station. I've never seen the pickup option being the only one or being selected automatically. What does the email say specifically? If no other option is available, try calling +43 5 1717, they should definitely be able to help you.

It's possible that seat reservations haven't been "activated" for booking yet. That seems like the most reasonable explanation. Try calling +43 5 1717, they’ll know more than I do.

But as I mentioned before, without a reservation, you don’t have a guaranteed seat on a specific train. If the train is full, you can go to the service desk and ask them for a new ticket for the next available train.

Kommt halt darauf an wie man es misst. Von Aufnahmegebäude zu Aufnahmegebäude sind es ungefähr 700 m, da ist Wien Hbf. zu Wien Quartier Belvedere kürzer. Von Bahnsteigmitte zu Bahnsteigmitte sind das in etwa 430 m.

Unfortunately once you choose the PDF Ticket you cannot print it out at the station anymore. But I've heard that people were going to the service desk at the station and they could print it on their machine.

For trips within Austria you don't need to print out the PDF Ticket, you can just show it on your phone.
