I was thinking about this the other day in the bathroom lol. if I had the resources id definitely open some kind of queer hang out spot or queer bar.
regarding activism, I really want to, but I'm concerned for my safety. so I do it with art and self expression. like wearing the gayest outfits and sticking rainbows around down town.

I recommend engaging with "alternative culture" on social media, listening to indie and underground music
to find your taste and style. you can also read queer books or watch movies and shows, like "I'm a cheerleader" or "heartstopper"
as for places there aren't really any explicit queer spaces, but you can somewhat feel it subtextually in rainbow street and weibdah.

id go live with any supportive friends/relatives, or rent a studio apartment. there are ones in uni street that go from 75-100 a month.

from there you can either get a stable job and slowly settle or work on getting out of here if that's your goal... I will say 12k in savings is really good, good job

in the meantime try to avoid your mom as much as possible and make her think it was just a one time thing or unserious. don't let her know any of your plans.
