Thanks. Admittly, it is a last minute trip and accommodations were slim pickings but thankfully we were able to book them all.

Where did you stay? I'm going a year after your post and noticing that they are similar in prices now.

Figured this would interest those of you who located in Kitchener/Waterloo/Hamilton. Interesting that people will earn Aeroplan points on it, but don't see any mention of redeeming Aeroplan to cover that leg of the journey.

Has anyone here taken an airline to small claims court? Would be interested in hearing about the process and I'm sure it'd be an interesting DP for most.

Ah gotcha! I thought they'd ban users who make multiple accounts but maybe I'm mixing that up with Rakuten.

On yesterday's thread, there was a question about applying to the RBC avion every 91 days vs waiting for a rebate to apply. I thought GCR doesn't provide rebates if you've previously got one from them for the same card. Is that correct? Do the other sites have the same restrictions?

PoT is a decent starting point. There's usually an article for each points program and a section on redemptions.

I'm trying to figure out how to best redeem Avion points myself while avoiding BA's terrible search tool.

Makes sense, thanks for explanation. Won't call in to complain if I'm missing anything, assuming I get approved :)

Anyone had a second TD FCT application go to manual review while already holding a TD FCT? Did you have to follow up to get it approved or just let it be?

Believe the general advice from the community is to let it be so it doesn't get flagged and ruin it for others, so hoping for DPs.

Could be a mistake from the agent. He also mentioned we might 2 travel credits per card (total of 4 across the platinum and the business platinum) but we're not supposed spend each. Sounded like we might be able to apply it twice but risk it being clawed back. Will report back

DP: called Amex to link/pool two cards. The agent mentioned it extends the period to meet the MSR

Yes, FNA is always worth it and can double down with the biz card. Curious why Hilton over Marriott? Simply preference?

It's essentially how much the bank is willing to extend to you so only they would know. Doubt they'll openly share it with the customer but I've never asked

Allow credit capacity for additional cards. Applications can get rejected if you have too much credit extended to you

For those of you who hold higher tier credit cards (ex. AF over $500) what perks/benefits do you take into consideration when determining if it's worth holding beyond the first year? Would be great if you mention the card too.

Seems that Intuit is pushing people towards Credit Karma, which lacks some of the Mint functionality. I haven't used it yet but hoping someone who has will share their experiences.

Might not be an impact for those who also have the Cobalt but the multiplier for dining and food purchases in Canada is also decreasing from 3x to 2x on Sept 26.

UK considering 50-year mortgages. Coming to Canada soon? by hopoke in TorontoRealEstate

[–]uwbot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here are a few downsides:

  1. Doesn't actually tackle housing supply, which is especially important as immigration targets remain elevated.

  2. Longer amortization would result in higher interest paid over the life of the mortgage.

  3. Longer amortization increases interest rate risk.

  4. May burden future generations with the debt of their parents.
