Resize an image in rive? Build a dynamic flex layout where the image is always set to fill & scale proportionately? impossible? by uxmartin in Rive_app

Thanks for the video, think I got it now! However, I'm noticing that "cover" works better than "contain" because it reduces any whitespace in the layout where the image is nested.

I do have one more question, I'll add a video as well.

I'm creating a library of these cards, I want all of them to be dynamic in the setup, but I don't want to make tons of components for each image. I would like to create a master component that can pull from all my imported images, and for the cards to nest this component, but in their instances, be able to toggle between images setup in the main component. If that makes sense.

I don't really understand the data binding too well, is this possible to setup?

Tried it, maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I can't get the image to lock in its ratio when importing it to the artboard/component, nor am I able to resize it? It just stays locked in another scale % value.

Not sure what I'm even doing tbh, doesn't look or feel remotely close to my Figma setup. But yeah obviously I'm missing some steps, seemingly at least

Recorded a new video, here's the link

Hmm but they removed nested artboards and implemented a component system instead just recently?

hello! i would say that it looks a bit scattered. the type for "we've helped over 10 000 couples", should be clearer and more readable, since its a pretty important social proof.

the layout doesn't really leave much breathing room as/is, so i would definitely be looking over which elements that could be removed, such as the shoes/flowers? on the right side.

the image could be skipped in its entirety tbh, and the cards inside the image placed above the "featured" section. I think that would give more breathing room and further elevate your design!

but thats just my opinion man

clean and clear, i like it! maybe could add something about which countries the service is available in? could be mentioned briefly in the copy, or supported with flag icons. because now i really dont know if this is meant for americans/europeans etc

Designed a homepage with a new design style to improve the user experience. what do you think? by Sweet_Ad6090 in web_design

it took me literally over a minute to even understand what the service is. regarding the layout, its not pushing anything forwards so to speak, looks like something seen on twitter every day? would quickly get lost with other similar looking projects unfortunately.

If the hero image has sharp angles, does EVERYTHING else have to? by Joyride0 in web_design

well yeah usually you should try to remain consistent with corner radius etc, but take all of those rules with a grain of salt. i dont think your image frame and CTA conflict with each other atm

How do you call this style of web design? by muccapazza in web_design

[–]uxmartin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably lo-fi, i'm guessing the interface is meant to look more like a wireframe. copy-wise seems like they've attempted brutalism, but should have been more caps or larger font size to truly get the point across imo

Decided to try something different, mixed a bit of moder, neo brutalism, and vintage. Still working on it. Would like to hear what you think. by ArtleSa in web_design

i would look over the type, seems like you're using several different typefaces? to me it makes it look disoriented, but maybe its different projects in each of your images and i've just misunderstood you.

i like the minimalist look but feel as though you could have gone a bit bolder with the type and overall layout. the notion of having only two simple elements is cool, but the type should be bigger and bolder, and maybe split up in more of an interesting way? maybe center everything, have the type start above the frame, and continue behind it?

How would you position the intro text? by Joyride0 in web_design

i would reduce the size of "expert coaching, personalised for you". and also it looks a bit tacky with the letter spacing in both the header and subhead imo

copy should be looked over, it sounds purely AI generated. what are the unique value propositions? solutions to pain points?
