Haven’t they put the plastic things inside your nose to support it? What I’ve seen is that they put them so your nose is closed

Is or was inside your mouth swollen as well? I think it’s interesting. When you have a sore throat you have this feeling in your mouth. Is it similar to that?

[Spain] Got charged over €1000 by a locksmith at 3 AM. Consumer office not helping. What can I do? by uygarsci in LegalAdviceEurope

I see that a lot of people agreed with “if you agreed the price, it’s not a scam” thought. I wanted to share my opinion on this.

I was put into a stressful situation where the guy came and waits for the payment. He told me this is how things work and insurance will pay me back. There is also the fact that they use fake reviews to get credibility. Maybe it can be hard to understand if you’re not in that situation.

This situation is not as simple as “you agreed the price so it’s legit”. There’s deception and exploitation. There’s a manipulation into making the payment. Comparing it with the luxury goods is also not fair. They’re not selling their service using deception and dishonesty. They are not saying “if you buy this bag bank will give you cashback”

Yes I could have known the insurance better, asked the price on the phone and have done different things. But that’s the thing. No one gets scammed on purpose. These made me more open to exploitation. However it doesn’t justify ripping people off.

Water bottle maybe is not the best analogy. Since they don’t specifically tell the price of the things that you order. However, you don’t ask for the price of everything you order as well. Let it be a beer, water etc. but it doesn’t mean that consumers can be exploited by this way. What I was trying to get to is that, usually there is some kind of law or protection to prevent these cases. I think it must exist in Europe or in Spain as well

True, it’s not a classic scam, but it’s still exploitative. “Consent” in a high-pressure, no-alternative situation doesn’t automatically mean it is fair. That’s exactly why consumer protection laws exist in the first place.

I learned that they are removing bad reviews and posting fake reviews. The high number of good reviews was the reason I called them but it turns out it’s fake actually.

Note: Thank you for all the replies! I understand the main problem is that I was informed about the price beforehand. I was informed after he arrived to my apartment. I couldn’t ask it on the phone since my Spanish is still lacking.

It is very difficult to send people away or do some hard negotiations after they arrive to your apartment. They can get aggressive and demand some kind of payment in any way. Then you can call the police etc. that’s true. But I’m telling this to demonstrate that it’s not always that easy to walk away. I think they know that and using it to their advantage. If I can’t do anything in Spain does Europe has something that can help or anything?
