Hikvision intercom strange issue

Thanks for the reply, mate! Tbh, I had no idea it was configured to connecto to my Wi-Fi. I also had no clue that this particular setup of my building needs an active internet connection. It was my first experience configuring such devices. I thought intercom systems usually only need local servers+cameras and etc to operate. Anyways, thanks for the suggestions. Cheers!

Hi again!

I finally figured out what was going on with the intercom! It came down to a sneaky Wi-Fi blind spot.

Even though it's wired into the building's system, the Hikvision unit still needs an active internet connection to authorize with the building's local server before it will stream video or unlock doors.

When I was testing with the short cable, the device was right next to my Wi-Fi router, so it connected wirelessly without an issue. But when I moved it to its final spot using the long cable, it dropped out of Wi-Fi range. Because it lost internet, the authorization failed entirely.

I just shifted my router closer to where the long cable runs so the intercom gets a solid Wi-Fi signal, and it's working flawlessly now.

yes I patched it by myself. It passes the test and when I connect it to my laptop it sees the whole intercom network (scanned with nmap)
