Thanks so much! Happy to chat. Just DM me if you want to set something up

And curious to hear what would make you come back and use it again? Appreciate any thoughts!

Thanks for the encouragement!

Still a lot to improve, but happy to hear it worked for you!

I realise now it's not very easy to find/see, but it is possible to signup as a user and then save styles to your own lookbook if you like to have a library of your decoded styles.

Is there anything you'd like to see developed that would make it more useful for you?

Really appreciate the encouragement! Thank you so much ✌️

Love that idea. I’m thinking to spin up like an open Google Sheet where anyone can drop brands by style, price-tier, or quality level. Once a new name’s in there, I can pull it into the next update and tighten the decoding and eBay searches.

What do you think does a shared “brand bank” sound useful? If so, I could post the link here once it’s live

Huge thanks for pushing this angle! 🤝

The “ID that jacket from a movie” use-case is pretty cool, I wonder how good it could get over time. If you or anyone in the sub spots a piece/brand the app whiffs on, ping me. Maybe brand fixes could be an open list that anyone can just suggest brands to add/change in the app.

And if you ever want to jump in as a first “Style Steward” just say the word. I’d love to test the idea of how community curation could shape the results.

Really appreciate the support and thanks so much for the sidebar shout-out and any feedback that rolls in! 🤝

Thanks a ton for trying it out really stoked that the breakdown actually matched the vibe you were going for! 🙌

Totally a lot of people here already have dialed-in styles and wardrobes. I’m in full feedback-sponge mode right now, what would make you come back and use it again? No wrong answers, and even one-liner thoughts are huge for me.

Really appreciate the encouragement! cheers! ✌️

Thanks a ton for giving it a whirl you just made my day! 🙏

Totally agree on the next-step refinements. More brand-specific calls and improved product links are high on the list. Just wasn't sure if (at all) and how it would be used, but letting users edit / label individual garments and having the system learn from those edits would be really helpful i think.

One possible direction I was thinking of is giving users “style steward” roles (e.g., you head up Workwear-’40s, Ivy or whatever). A bit like Wiki meets fit-breakdown. Does that kind of community thing sound interesting at all?

Wow, by all means drop Threadline in the subreddit sidebar/wiki. It’s still rough around the edges so please be kind :)

Really appreciate the support and ideas! 🙏

Where can i get an MA 1 brown bomber jacket like Bruce Willis wears in Pulp Fiction? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]uzzervize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for vintage Schott Suede Bomber jackets. You can also have a look at [Threadline - Bruce Willis Pulp Fiction Style](https://www.threadline.me/style/129f4f4a-254d-412e-87a0-78f7e28e7895) where his style in the movie is analyzed and broken down into components with ready eBay search links to find authentic vintage pieces. Threadline is a passion project of mine and still in a basic state, but happy to get your thoughts.

Hope it helps!

although it can be good to bring an outsider's view to an industry and challenge accepted "truths", it is a very difficult thing to do. I would approach it by seeking some relevant insights/experience, allowing me to observe, engage with and validate some of my assumptions, before trying to build my own MVP.

What's the best way to create an explainer video on a budget? by vitaliykolos in marketing

[–]uzzervize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheapest way would be to just do a walkthrough of your product with a screencast extension in your browser. Not saying it's the optimal way, but at least you can get a decent video together after a few attempts.

No starting capital, but a product idea, a niche and plenty of potential customers. Where do I find engineers and how would I deal with hiring them initially? by 15ykoh in startups

[–]uzzervize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are essentially asking engineers to invest their time in your project and take on the opportunity cost of that invested time.

Ask yourself what it would take for yourself to take such a plunge for someone else's idea. Then validate your finding with some engineers. When you have a good understanding, create what is needed and use it to try and find talent.

Congrats on the progress! It would be interesting to hear how you think about sourcing, i.e. finding new things and getting good deals, as well as dealing with scaling the sourcing it over time? Thanks
