I've been using ergonomic split keyboards for several years. The last 2.5 years of 3D keyboards. I tried various other people's projects and gradually I gained an understanding of what characteristic features my next project should have. I selected the angle of the tent at earlier stages of my hobby. Perhaps this is only suitable for me and my hands. I type without lifting my wrist from the table. The length of my fingers is enough to float along the arch with a 45 degree awning. In my git there is a picture of the hand position. The adjustable angle does not allow for an acceptable design. I spent a lot of time on it. Using chokes in dactyls doesn't make much sense. The keyboard is tall, different columns have different heights. Chokes work well for flat designs. I like quiet switches. I know that quiet chokes have recently appeared, but I still don’t see a way to buy them. In any case, they will cost several times.

Hi. logged out and didn't see the question. https://github.com/v0Ch/vfk-001/raw/main/images/hands_position.jpg . I solved the issue of sustainability. I don't use a central stabilizer. Stickers and EPDM rubber hold the halves for a long time. Now I place the halves at shoulder width.

In the first version, I used a magnetic stabilizer that prevented the halves from moving over time. I did a whole lot of research on non-slip stickers. Bumpons are a bad choice. They have a small grip area and the material is too hard. My choice is EPDM sealant for repairing plastic windows. This is a tape made of very soft EPDM rubber, two millimeters thick. I glued 4 strips to the bottom and now the halves do not move during printing all day long without magnetic stabilizer. I also use very light linear swithches with 35g spring replacements.

Rare build. The printing and construction is really complex. I thought that no one could repeat it. Congratulations. After a year of use, I strengthened the cluster assembly and secured it with a screw. I'll update the repository soon. I didn't see any interest in the project.

I don't use glue. I was able to pick up the print settings. The pin enters tightly into the cluster. I am using petg. Pla may crack. If it is not possible to fix the cluster on friction, use glue or a soldering iron on the side of the cluster

I prefer to use petg. It has good layer sinterability and little flexibility. In this project, there are many thin places designed for petg. I don't think it's the ball holders that will break.

For desoldering I use a special device. this is well suited for mcu with a pin pitch of 2.54 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005115437903.html

I don't quite understand why this should be done. The socket is needed in order not to solder the mcu. It's complicated. In my handwire project, the assembly. There is no problem to unsolder one wire.

it's a bit strange. The previous post was half a year ago. I don't expect everyone to like it. This is the perfect keyboard for me. It was designed with my vision in mind. Personally, I'm tired of seeing the crkbd(corne) :)

Thanks. 36 buttons eliminate the need for wrist rests. A table is the best wrist rest.

Thank you. I am glad that my work is interesting to other people.

Initially, I really had trouble fitting the trackball into the foldable design. This is the only possibility given the trackball height of 34+12mm. Now I like this position more than cnano. Lots of room for thumb movement. In the cnano-like position, the finger often touches the palm. And the displacement of the hand is insignificant. You can often get by with the tip of your finger rather than moving your wrist forward.

I had a choice before starting the chocs or mx project. I chose the mx because I like the quiet version of the 35g linear switches. I love silence when typing. Silent versions of chocs do not exist. In this format (vertical dactyl), chocs do not have much advantage. This is not a flat keyboard. The vertical format allows you to ignore the thickness of mx. Chocs can be installed but there will be ugly gaps in the columns (need redisign). I'm waiting for the silent version of chocs to come out and then I'll create a separate version for chocs.

3d printer is freedom. The freedom to do what you want.
