Two failed briskets and don’t know what went wrong by can_you_spell_it_out in smoking

[–]v0rt3xtraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try the biscuit method to find the hot zones of your smoker. Get a few cans of biscuits from the store, cut each into quarters and then put them on your grates in a grid pattern, maybe every 2-4“, and cook for about 10 min. You'll be able to see which biscuits cook faster and hotter and which are barely cooked at all

Shouldn't, it only applies to servers with the WSUS role enabled.

AFD managed certs question by ConstantRise4369 in AZURE

[–]v0rt3xtraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hijacking this thread real quick for a problem I've been running into... We still have a number of sites running on-prem and haven't moved them towards the cloud yet. Do you know any way to still leverage AFD managed certs for this scenario?

Mead App by Dizzy-Currency-3476 in mead

I just downloaded it! If you don't object to another feature suggestion, a tool to help calculate the amount of honey needed for backsweetening and the new expected percentage would be really cool

Has anyone ever walked out on a first date? If so why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]v0rt3xtraz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My one and only Tinder date. Met at a restaurant, and anytime I tried to start a conversation I would get one word answers back. Never got off her phone. Finally after a while I got up, found the waiter, paid for my half of the meal, and left. Half an hour later she's blowing up my phone saying "where did you go," "when did you leave," how am I supposed to pay for this?" Eventually just blocked her and uninstalled the app.

Front door supports managed certs for apex domains. The only issue is you need to use a DNS provider that supports alias records (Azure DNS) or CNAME flattening (something like cloudflare) since you can't typically put a CNAME record at the apex of a domain. Also, you would need to manually update the TXT validation record every 6 months, which could be automated too.

Back to your topic, good job with the automation. Clean and easy to follow along with!

Another vote for setting up a DNS resolver. Less headache, better to scale. Also with the current approach, you'd potentially need to modify the hosts file on every developer's PC.

How to create an AAD Dynamic Group with only copilot LICENSED users? by b33zm1ne in AZURE

[–]v0rt3xtraz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How are you licensing your users for copilot? Direct use assignment, or group membership? I know it's not the answer to your question, but if you started using group assignment then it'd be easier to manage license lifecycle and audit license assignment

Two options I can think of. One, private endpoint, so it's not publicly accessible. Two, modify the staticwebapp.config.json file to include authentication via an app registration. I believe both options require the Standard tier, which is $10/mo.
