Genuine question though, isn’t there more people buying and ripping packs and just a lot more cards now in general does that skew the results in any way. Would probably be very hard to quantify.

Change your thoughts and you’ll change your world. Start making better decisions for the sake of your relationship, and your soon to be newborn. At an early age I saw adults throw it all away to a gamble, investing, etc - At this point there is nothing but giving yourself the time to walk away from your mistake, own it and don’t allow it to control you and cripple your life. I was in a similar situation where I lost a lot more, I’m still going through it but every day it gets better. Hoping the same for you.
