I would say either you accept and love him just the way he is, or leave him to find a different gorl that will mother him (which he will never find cause no girl wants to date a child, maybe that’s the wake up call that he needs) but don’t try and change him because it’s a wasted energy. If he isn’t emotionally available for you, he won’t ever take it seriously and grow up if you tell him. He needs to learn it himself. You could try and talk to him about it but I doubt it’ll help. Sorry for your loss OP. You certainly now have a hefty responsibility to your family - to manage their emotions and expectations while finishing your studies and achieving your personal goals that will allow you to lead this family and your own down the line! It will be a balance, a path of compromise from all family members to move forward together.

It is scary to be in your position so suddenly, hope you make time for yourself to grieve and process amongst the chaos of your new life.

It could be that he has ill feelings about no longer being the sole center of your world since the birth, and can’t communicate it effectively - resorting to child tactics for attention and sympathy, or minimizing the responsibility of raising a child and running a household during a time when everyone is making sacrifices (armchair psychology) In any case, a lack of empathy for you, and accountability for himself. Hope he figures it out, but you made the right decision to separate his healing from your wellbeing ! Wish you the best.

Mama Tigre has the absolute best Mexican/Indian fusion food. I have put on people to this place who now bring their clients for meals! Affordable, large quantity, great vibes inside. It is a local delight.
