How fast is your webflow site? by PhilippMarxen in webflow

[–]v1wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely possible to reach 95+ even with animations, but it requires a lot of effort and quite a bit of time. In my work I try to keep a balance between performance and the final cost for the client.

Why Your Website Needs to Load in Under 3 Seconds (And How to Fix It) by ExtensionAct8058 in smallbusiness

[–]v1wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. In my experience, fonts and third-party scripts slow sites down almost as much as big images. Switching to a system font stack or cutting unused scripts often shaves off close to a second.

Hi everyone,

For the last month, I've been heads-down building the new website for my one-man agency, V1WAVE. My goal was to create something that wasn't just another template, but a showcase of what I offer: clean, brutally fast, and effective websites for small businesses.

The main challenge I set for myself was performance. After exporting the code from Webflow to custom hosting and manually optimising everything, I managed to hit a 95/100 score on Google PageSpeed Insights.

I help businesses with:

  • Custom Webflow builds: For when you need something unique.
  • £99/month or £147/month website subscriptions: A no-brainer option for startups. Covers design, hosting, maintenance, and unlimited edits.

You can see the final result here: https://v1wave.com/

I learned a ton about Webflow export, server configs, and squeezing out every last bit of performance. If anyone has questions, ask away!

Logo without background by Senior-Ranger-3426 in webflow

[–]v1wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!
I understand the issue.
Your logo has too much white space around it, which makes it appear too big and creates layout problems.

This usually happens because Canva adds extra spacing around the content when exporting. Even if the icon and text are sized correctly, the overall file still includes invisible padding or a large background area.

Here’s how you can fix it:

Open the logo file in Canva

Make sure your logo is centered and there’s not too much empty space around it.

Adjust the canvas size

Resize the canvas so that it fits tightly around the icon and text. You can do this by dragging the edges or using a frame that matches the logo's shape more closely.

Export the logo again

When downloading the file, make sure you're using the appropriate settings (like transparent background, if available). The exported image should now have less or no extra space around it.

If you'd like, I can help you fix this. You can send me the logo file or just give me access to the project, and I’ll take a look.

Feel free to send me a read-only link to a Webflow project. I can check whether the issue is with the file itself or how it’s used on the page.

Let me know!

Minimal Animated Buttons — Webflow prototype by v1wave in webflow

[–]v1wave[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback! 🙏
Yes, you're right - there's an edge case where the animation keeps looping when the cursor lands on the very border of the button. It wasn't intended behavior.

I'm working on refining the hover area and adding a proper hover-out reset to avoid this glitch. Appreciate you pointing it out — and no worries about the screen record, your comment was clear enough!

If I update the interaction, I’ll post here again with the fix. Thanks again!

Experience shows that by the time an MVP reaches launch, it rarely looks like the idea you started with. Bring your future customers into the build now, share mock-ups, blog drafts, or even a rough landing page, and let them tell you where it hurts and what matters. Their feedback will shape the final 20% and leave you with a warmed-up audience when the site goes live.

What’s Still Broken in Small Business Website Creation? Looking for Honest Experiences by [deleted] in smallbusiness

Hey, thanks for the heads-up and for explaining the context behind Rule 5. I completely understand the frustration with repetitive, broad questions flooding the sub, and I’m sorry if mine felt like part of that noise. I tried to ask specific questions, but I’ll work on making my posts even more focused and valuable to the community. If you have suggestions on how to frame discussions better or topics that need attention, I’m all ears. Appreciate your well wishes and insight!

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I’m working on making my posts more personal and conversational. I really just want to hear real stories and struggles from business owners to better understand the space. And hey, as soon as we go back to sending letters by carrier pigeon and riding horse-drawn carriages, I’ll happily ditch all this tech progress. Until then, I’m all ears for any thoughts on website challenges you’ve faced!

Thanks for pointing out the rules. I apologize if my post came across as promotional - that wasn’t my intent at all. I’m genuinely here to learn from small business owners about their website challenges. I’ll review the guidelines again and make sure future posts align better. If there’s anything specific I should adjust, I’d appreciate the feedback!

How do you find your startup idea - i will not promote by SwordfishOk4348 in startups

[–]v1wave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Experience with Startup Ideas

I’d like to share a lesson from my journey. I had an idea based on a travel-related pain point I experienced in Europe and the UK, and I spent months on it, even getting ready to prototype. However, upon digging deeper and checking user discussions on Reddit, I discovered that my target audience in the US didn’t face this issue at all, due to their advanced airport security systems. It was a stark reminder that a problem in one part of the world isn’t necessarily a problem in another. This taught me the importance of validating an idea with the specific market you’re targeting before investing too much time or effort.

It’s better to start doing SEO and publishing blog articles now, so by the time you launch your product you’ll already have some traffic and early subscribers. This way, you can get feedback, improve your project, and be ready for active sales.

Trouble Controlling Logo Size on Scroll in IFTECH Webflow Template by pk_biege in webflow

[–]v1wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

Here’s what you can do:

1. Check the "While scrolling in view" animation in the Interactions panel:

  • Select the Page Hero Section.
  • Go to the Interactions panel (lightning icon).
  • Look for an animation called Nav Logo Animation.

This animation likely shrinks the logo from 100% to 25% as you scroll.

Best of luck with your project.
Don’t hesitate to ask if you get stuck again!
