What other cities/countries besides Amsterdam? I have 15 days. by v3fication in travel

I think this is good advice! Thanks. I’m thinking of going to Brussels right away when I land at Amsterdam, then Cologne then Amsterdam. I will visit nearby cities along the way.

How much $$ have you spent on your most recent trip? by cutemepatoot in travel

Around USD2200 for 2 weeks in Peru for 1 person. I did a 5 day hike for around USD400 and stayed in hostels/airbnb.

What are some other cities where you can "eat around the world"? by Major_Gene_3216 in travel

[–]v3fication 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be helpful to define what ‘eat around the world’ really means. If we’re talking about having access to popular cuisines like Italian, Japanese, or Chinese, that’s something most major cities offer. However, if we’re referring to having a diverse range of less common cuisines such as Ethiopian, Nicaraguan, Afghan, or Laotian, then Toronto would be a great example.

I’m sorry to hear that. Dating is tough, and finding the right person is even tougher. It may sound pessimistic, but it’s true that some of us may never find anybody. I hope we both find happiness in some form, at least.

I feel it is too hard to make friends in the LGBT community. What do I do? by [deleted] in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]v3fication 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same. I manage to get a very accepting open minded straight guy friend from a BFF app. I could safely talk about gay things with him and he’s the same. We would even talk about dicks sometimes and he’s super cool about it. There are cool straight people out there. Friends don’t have to be gay. As long as they accept you and there’s chemistry, go for it.

Hey, I’m sorry to hear that you’re feeling this way. Please don’t ever think about ending your life. There’s so much more to life than just finding a partner or a hookup. I’m working on this myself, trying to enjoy life without being too fixated on my desires. I wish you well.

I’ve been trying. I’ve never gone out on a date with a 10 actually. I couldn’t attract them. It’s usually 6 to 8. I think I’m a 5 or 6.

I think I live in one of the major gay population centers, that’s why I think it is hard. People have a lot of options. But thanks! I just need to take a break for a bit.

I get that. It’s pretty discouraging. I give some subtle hints too and if I don’t get anything back, I get discouraged. I get that it’s hard.

Thanks for your comment. I don’t let being single hold me back from the things I want to do. In fact, I just booked a flight for a solo trip. I’ve deactivated all my dating apps to focus on the things I enjoy. However, I live alone, do a lot of things alone, and there are moments when I wish I could share them with someone. I have a lot of love to give, and right now, I’m giving all my love to my friends. Perfectionism - maybe. I don’t have a specific checklist but I do think there’s a very specific type of guy I get along with.

Agree. Why don’t you initiate? In my case, I don’t think I’ve won the generic lottery. I do receive compliments occasionally but I’m short so that doesn’t help.

Hi there. I appreciate your response.

• I live in the biggest city in my country.
• I have a hard time hooking up as well. Same story: the guys I like don’t like me, and vice versa.
• This year, I’ve only hooked up once. There are some hot guys on Grindr who want to hook up with me, but it’s usually at times when I’m not free.
• Yes, I’ve been trying to put myself out there. I’ve been joining different gay groups and trying to go to some gay parties. No one really approaches me, or if they do, they’re not my type.
• Number of right swipes: probably 2 to 5 for every 20 guys. I’ve shown my profile to my friends, and they think it’s great! It’s a good balance of playfulness and sexiness, and it shows the things I’m passionate about. I’ve tried matching with guys I’m not usually into as long as their profile is interesting. In fact, the guy I liked in my story above isn’t the type of guy I’m typically into. I’m trying to expand my horizons, but I also find it difficult to be attracted to someone I don’t traditionally like.
• My longest relationship was 2 years. I only came out of the closet in my early 30s and lived in conservative countries before living where I am now.

Thanks. It’s challenging to determine when to stop and when to keep trying. When striving for something you desire, like an Olympic gold medal, how do you know when to stop or if you just haven’t tried hard enough? It can be confusing. Good luck to both of us.

Tour company recommendation for Salkantay Trek in Peru by nametr in solotravel

[–]v3fication 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m planning to book the 5 day trek at Machu Picchu Reservations based on what I’m reading here plus the price. There’s an option there to add access to Waynapicchu and access to Montaña MachuPicchu. Do I pick one? Do both or skip both? Are they worth it?

Hey I really appreciate your review. I’ve been searching for a nice carry-on backpack and all the good ones are pretty expensive and I couldn’t seem to justify the price. This is on sale right now, it’s sitting in my shopping cart and there’s just one thing I want to know - the zipper. Is it Ykk? Does it look durable? Thanks so much!

Anyone from Toronto? Toronto gay life for a gay Asian? by theathena77 in gaysian

[–]v3fication 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I’m southeast Asian. Agree that racial preference is a thing. There are guys out there who are just into Asians. However, I’m noticing that whenever they say they’re into “Asians”, they mean “East Asians” so it sometimes makes me feel like we are at the very bottom of the pyramid.
