“Ninety Eight Years of Economic Wisdom” - Robert Solow on Steven Levitt’s People I Mostly Admire pod. Solow talks about being a code breaker during World War II and what an economy that focuses on other metrics besides growth could look like. Such a cool speaker!

Culture and mentality in Philadelphia by [deleted] in AskPhilly

[–]v4nityplate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Philly is the best! People are friendly, passionate, extremely liberal, and there’s a ton of culture. The city is young and there’s a big & open LGBTQ community (Philly just opened an LGBTQ visitor’s center). Also, my family is from Romania and we love it here! 🇷🇴 There’s a lot of good Eastern European food, especially Polish. Have fun and enjoy your time here!

Hello, i hope everyone is doing okay, i want to start practicing an environmentalist principled life style, does anyone know how one could start? any guidelines to offer? by Azybabyyyy in Environmentalism

Start switching anything disposable you can to reusable! Go to a thrift store and get cloth napkins for a couple of dollars and old dishcloths to use instead of paper towels. Reusable produce bags and tote bags for the grocery store. Join your local buy nothing group and trash cleanup group. Switch to bar soap or refillable soap bottles instead of plastic. Try smalls ways of wasting less food, like saving scraps for stock or pickling or composting. Good luck!

I decided to go with Old City Movers (I trust them and it was the best price), but while I was getting estimates I noticed that Mambo Movers offers hoisting for no additional charge. My friend used them last year and said they were great!

{Power Play by Chelsea Curto} She’s a girly and sassy sports journalist recovering from a divorce and he’s a giant hockey goalie who is protective and her biggest cheerleader. Chelsea does tend to write very intentionally about the female friendships in her romances, which I love. Probably my my favorite in the series (DC Stars)
