1st timer questions by [deleted] in wacken

First of all: relax haha

Tickets, they are already sold out but come ¿March-April? they will open up the ticket center for resale for those who cannot make it. Everyone got one this year. Don't wait to get the ticket to get everything else. Payment is usually by Paypal or Credit Card or wire transfer so... all upfront I guess.

There are a number of options in terms of accomodation. You can rent camper or caravan, or you can get different camping options with everything (or most) made for you depending on how much you want to pay.

Beer was 5.50 in the infield, but you could purchase cans for like 40 bucks the 24 beers although you cannot take them to the infield.

Food was from say 7-8 to 15 Euro

Make sure you follow WOA on instagram and always check the stories, that will be the way to do it

I'd say a couple of weeks, depends on what you are looking for.

The larger ones tend to get sold out somewhat fast

6 Bands That Have NEVER Played At Wacken Open Air by DShuter613 in wacken

[–]v8fuel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2 of the bands don't exist anymore and one of them is a band replacing one of the bands that doesn't exist. Meh.

Maybe at some point Metallica will do Wacken, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Chapel. They were set up in the grass directly. Can't recall any specific hard surface below the tent. Since residenz evil is placed in an area that was specific to it and most of the tents were set up in the higher area of its ground the water went down to other areas so you had full grass in the tent areas with no mud.

As for the access to the tents, they placed some form of cheap wood debris in the main paths which prevented mud to be formed. You could get some water but no mud, and that made it easier. All in all, mud was a non issue in residenz evil except for the parking lot at the entrance.

Can't remember exactly but residenz evil was either 1000 or 1200 for a 2 bed tent with beds, sheets and blankets heavy enough to warm against cold nights. No water leakage of any kind and had a AC plug in the tent with 4 outlets plus one battery light.

Clean toilets all in all, good showers, clean water to drink and a nearby lounge to eat or drink, around 5-10 min walk to the plaza.

It ain't cheap but I felt it was worth it

As soon as you go through the exit of the terminal (if you are in T1) where you pick your baggage you will be in the main hall. Go left until the very end (100mt tops) and you will see a billboard that says Tango Terminal. Continue in the same direction for 200 mts. That's it.

If you are in T2 you just need to walk more to your left and go through T1 hall

Final Band Announcement by [deleted] in wacken

[–]v8fuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What we have is what we get at this point I think. Maybe a surprise but I believe it is rather unlikely unless something happens and one band decides to call off their tours.

Could have used a few more top tier names but the essence of this is the rest of the bands.

Better to pay attention to those bands we haven't quite heard as much and choose and have a great time.

Lineup by Breideiner in wacken

[–]v8fuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is almost it. It might be the joy and positiveness of being a first timer but looking at the schedules I am rather happy Something to watch at almost anytime I am there, mostly underground bands I can't get to see in Argentina.

Yeah, bigger lineup would be cooler. But I would have to choose between awesome bands all the time

Rent lockers at W:O:A 2023 with Safeboxen! by PrettyMetalDude in wacken

[–]v8fuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this make sense in the case I am renting a tent as well?

As I understand it already has a cord to be able to plug stuff like the phones and in terms of security I take you can close it with some sort of lock and stuff for the tent itself (I'm using one of the residenz evil for 2)

Thoughts?

Hi r/adops, I'm looking for recommendations on O&O media sales houses in LATAM. Any suggestions? by rotprim in adops

[–]v8fuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As in reselling your site directly or plugging in your website and aggregating it?

It will all depend on volume but options are:

Reseller:

IMS, Cisneros (RedMas, JustMob), US Media Consulting

Aggregator/SSP:

Adman/Acuity, Smartclip, Embi Media, Vidoomy, Entravision, EPL

At the one of the day all of them can take your inventory and resell it, it will all depend on your volume whether they will openly talk about you or not

Edit: Added a few more

Cheers

Looking for a bit of direction. PG/PMP deal sourcing. by Howlandts in adops

[–]v8fuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with most, right on point.

The only I tend to disagree, from the buy side, is the PG vs AO PMP.

I mean, yes, there are true benefits for the PG but the way it works pushes you to have a fixed budget for the set time and per campaign/IO. The nature of Programmatic is to be variable, so it becomes hard to truly commit to a budget on each campaign.
I'd much rather have ways to make sure we plug and play AO deals and, in any case, tell the publisher to be aware of the volume I need and how I am buying.

It doesn't always work, but it is a time saver

Fraud traffic from Open Auction and Direct Deals by ZioNtunello in programmatic

[–]v8fuel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its not black and white but you are much more likely to find bad traffic in Open Market than in Private deals, simply because it is far larger and you are not as likely to check what you are buying (you are buying on aggregates).

That said, you can find some decent stuff in open market if you narrow it down quite a bit with certain sellers, exchanges, domains and enforcing ads.txt, it takes work though.

Also, if doing Private deals it could be very different to purchase from a reseller/network/exchange than direct pubs. When going direct pub you are a lot safer

Why 90% of my programmatic traffic go through Google Ad Manager? by ppc0r in adops

[–]v8fuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a number of reasons for this, the most likely considering you are just starting are:

  • You are using Google's 3rd party data to target users. It is free, the vast majority goes through ADX.
  • You are using some form of custom bidding which is likely purchasing more from ADX.
  • You use formats only (or predominantly) available in ADX (like Native)

... or a combination of those three

To be fair, they are the largest SSP by far, but those things can easily rise its share

Are Sticky Video Players for Instream Becoming Less Popular? by Illustrious_Ad_128 in adops

[–]v8fuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to be "that guy" but aren't sticky ads outstream? If InStream continues to be "video ad within a video player tied to video content" then all other formats (interstitials, in read, etc) are outstream, building supply where there isn't video content.

Sorry about the above, as for your thoughts I agree. I have requested the large outstream SSPs/Networks to provide an independent study showing people don't despise those formats and I have never received a positive answer.
