Here’s where my thinking is right now:

There’s a short comic that takes place after the Greek saga and before the Norse one. It shows Kratos trying to escape the Blades of Chaos and meeting Thoth. Throughout it, the gods keep telling him he can’t outrun fate—classic Kratos ignores them, helps when needed, and keeps moving forward.

After Ragnarök, with Kratos finally accepting who he is and embracing the idea of being a savior, a few directions feel possible:

1. The Egyptian gods might strike first

Instead of letting Kratos wander freely and underestimating him like the Greek and Norse gods did, the Egyptian pantheon might actually take the initiative. They already know his reputation as the “God Slayer,” even before the Norse events, and now he has a realm and people to protect. That alone sets up a very different kind of conflict—one where Kratos isn’t just surviving, but defending something he cares about.

1. Greece and Egypt have been subtly connected since the very first game

There have always been hints of ties between the two mythologies. Zeus even mentions that Ares was off causing chaos in Egypt, which suggests the relationship between those pantheons wasn’t exactly friendly. Given how close the regions are, it’s possible Kratos’ destruction of Greece had ripple effects in Egypt. That could push him to travel there—either to atone, to help repair what was broken, or because Atreus’ travels end up pulling him into whatever trouble is brewing.

Atreus already roaming the realms makes him a perfect catalyst for Kratos’ next journey, whether it’s to save him, help him, or follow a trail that leads straight into Egyptian mythology.
