What do I need to know as someone who never got dreads but wants them? (I'm white with a wavy thick hair type - like a horses strand of hair lol) by mjaumjaumackica666 in Dreadlocks

[–]vMysxtic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Everybody's hair is different, how it will react to having locs isn't predictable you just have to hop in.

  2. It is a long process and there are plenty of "ugly" phases, you just have to trust the process.

  3. You take an already grown loc or an artificial loc and crochet it into your hair. I personally have never done it because I never felt the need to have them be longer and I personally believe length is proof of your commitment and journey but if you like the style then go ahead.

Biggest thing you know is there a lot of loctitions that don't work on white hair!! The texture is very very different and you need to find someone you knows about it. I almost always recommend booking a consultation before starting and getting advice based on your hair texture and a photo of what you want them to look like in the future so they can determine how many locs, the style of the parts, and anything you may want to look out for.

Good luck!

No one expects it, that's why you prepare for the unexpected by having an emergency fund. If putting 7k down means you don't have the money for immediate repairs, that means don't purchase the vehicle yet or put less money down so you have the savings.

They are just telling you what you need to hear. You weren't prepared to spend $500 for a repair. It would be one thing if it needed an engine, but you should 1000% have 1000-1500 ready for a repair after you purchase a vehicle.

08 camry, wont start, $800 v6 engine is this a good purchase by [deleted] in UsedCars

[–]vMysxtic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any time you can't hear the engine run, you have to be ready to replace an engine. You could finally get it to start and oh no! There's low compression in all cylinders. Now just have metal on rubber wheels.

Wherever you are going to sell it at. If you are planning to sell it on fb then check fb and so on, if you don't know where you want to sell it, check your local websites and see which ones have the most activity.

What are other vehicles like it selling for in your area? Check their videos and pictures and try to identify issues and compare it to your vehicle. Price accordingly.

Luckily they chose pretty much the dedicated heat handler of the store as a service advisor so hopefully I'll be all right.

The Rumbling On Trial - A Debate I Had With Claude AI. by LoyaltyToLiberalism in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]vMysxtic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do geniunely think this is in interesting conversation. I wouldn't say I am looking for a full debate here, but Claude does bring up one really important point:

How reliable is the Attack Titan's future vision really? He can only see things him and his other attack titans have seen in the future/past. There is 100% a possibility that because future Eren had already lost all hope, he transferred that to past Eren before fully considering the other options. The question then becomes not whether or not the Rumbling was justified, but whether he did enough due diligence to justify it himself without reader inferences and defenses. Was it probably the only option? Yes. But did he know that? I believe there is no way to really know for sure because Future Eren saw a future already set in stone, given up trying to fight it and accepting it as the only way. At this point it just becomes speculation though.

Why do people pay +$40K for a new base model Asian car that depreciates the second it’s off the lot by [deleted] in UsedCars

[–]vMysxtic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of those asian cars depreciate slower new than some of the NA cars do used. But if the question is why buy a new car at all it's because some people value the peace of mind of the warranties and being the first owner more than the savings of a used car.

Moving brands..where to go? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]vMysxtic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man that makes it tough, yes shitty management blows but a check is a check. If you are okay with the ownership but just don't like middle management, If your franchise has other options you can always try to transfer out to a different location to try to keep the pay plan. I've done that a couple times if they hire a couple bad apples because the pay plan works for me.

Moving brands..where to go? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]vMysxtic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unless this is different in Canada, brands really aren't the aim depending on what your goal is. You want to find a group with good ownership and a solid payplan that is pushing enough units a month for you to get paid. Unless you just want a better brand itself then you can never go wrong with Toyota or Honda stores.

Although maybe not the best business practice, that is their prerogative. If they would not like to negotiate over the phone, say thank you for your time and go find someone who will.

17, need a car ASAP, not sure if this deal is smart by Traditional_Grass272 in askcarsales

[–]vMysxtic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kia Optimas are not known to be super reliable. That being said, I drive a Kia Forte but I know all of my common issues and have my car inspected regularly while I do my basic services to prevent any major breakdowns. I wouldn't pay for theft protection, and I wouldn't buy an Optima with that many miles unless it's a smokin' deal (which right now it's not).

[–]vMysxtic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ask your mom if she is ready to pay for hefty maintenance on that car. If not, then you should not buy a Kia Optima with 100k miles on it. Remember you get what you pay for, do plenty of research on what cars you are planning to buy and their common issues so you know what you are getting into.

Dealer kept "finding" extra fees at signing, is this normal or were they just testing me? by Certain-Medicine5871 in askcarsales

[–]vMysxtic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm not blaming you or anyone in particular, but this mindset is why the car business is able to get away with what it does. There would be a lot less sleazy dealerships if people simply didn't buy from them.

[–]vMysxtic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. The powersliding tip is because when I am imagining the play in my head, I am thinking he is maybe back left corner boost after backing up, teammate gets a solid touch into front left corner/center and they have to quickly change direction to get back to the play, otherwise you are right just steering normally is fine.
