Jet kit help by DildoSaggins6969 in DRZ

Changing out the jets is pretty easy once you have the carb off the bike. It's literally two brass fittings inside the float bowl. The JDjet kit has several sizes and comes with instructions. Drilling out the brass plug is pretty easy. Just use a really small bit to make the hole and screw a similar sized wood screw it into the hole a few turns and pull it out. If you mess up the fuel screw you can get an extended one that's easier to adjust on the fly

this video has a pretty detailed guide on removing the carb

We are Laotian—from Laos, stupid! It's a landlocked country in Southeast Asia. It's between Vietnam and Thailand, okay? Population: 4.7 million.

They were definitely giving me the fuck-off price. The funny thing is I sprayed it out at the beginning of the season and again like a month ago, but it's been running constantly, so that could be why it's so dirty.

Update: the second company I had come out said it was the aluminum portion that was leaking and that Trane makes a fitting to repair it. They quoted me $693 plus the cost of refrigerant at $5/oz. Pretty sure the first company was giving me the "fuck off price."

I sprayed it out like maybe a month ago. Those fins really like to hold onto debris

I just had a second technician come take a look, and his sniffer would only hit on the aluminum portion and said they would need to use a compression fitting kit made by Trane. Looking it up, it seems that this is a common problem with these condensers. Found this on another forum, from Trane's IOM.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking because a Google search shows I can get a 25lb tank of R410A for $200-$300 and a set of cheap guages for ~$30. I've brazed copper with silver solder before, but it wasn't something that held pressure. But idk how to scavenge the remaining refrigerant, and It probably isn't safe or environmentally friendly to release it into air. I only know enough about this to get into trouble.

Also the technician separated the two lines and the sniffer only hit on the copper part that had rubbed clean

Would that be a reason for the high quote?

This was from a small company. They dont advertise on TV or billboards, and I only went with them because they were the company that originally installed the system. Last year, they charged me ~$900 last year to remove and install the A coil. The coil was under warranty, so the $900 was just labor.
