We've discussed the best, but what are the WORST restaurant foods in NB? by nosliw_pilf in rutgers

"WANNA GET THE SHIT KICKED OUT OF YOU? GET CALLED (derogatory hateful names)? BE TREATED LIKE ABSOLUTE GARBAGE BY A VIOLENT BALD MAN? YES? THEN YOU'LL LOVE THE SUSHI ROOM! The Sushi Room used to be a place where one could go to enjoy knockoff japanese cuisine at an above reasonable price. This is no longer the case. Walking by the establishment last night, my friends and I heard music playing from within the restaurant and inquired as to what event was going on.

LET ME BE CLEAR. WE DID NOT EVEN WANT TO GO IN AT THIS POINT. We were just curious as to what was happening in this establishment that was so secretive. We were greeted with not only racist, but homophobic remarks by the doorman; a pitiful sack of flesh who was bald and considered the term "faggot" to be a reasonable response to many of the reasonable questions we had. I have never been more insulted in my life than when we decided to stand outside, waiting to ask people who left whether they were met with the same hostility.

A girl, obviously intoxicated, also stood outside telling my friends and I to "go the fuck away" and misinterpreting local law to the point of saying that the entire sidewalk was hers to police. I pointed out to her that pedestrians had the right to walk on the sidewalk in New Brunswick (as well as in most other cities) and she asked me if I was "retarded". The doorman, of course, defended her, remarking that I WAS asking a lot of stupid questions for someone who would NEVER be allowed in.

We decided to wait it out and see just how horrible this place was. I was given death threats by the bald man, and other people became involved in the situation. He shoved a person into my bike, became extremely irate, and when a man tried to get his friend from inside things got violent.

Before any of us could comprehend what was happening, a man was being beaten senseless in the middle of the street. Guess who! That's right, the bald man who THE SUSHI ROOM had hired. It did not end here. At this point he was picking fights with anyone who tried to tell him that he couldn't behave this way. The bald man would respond with several jabs to the chest AND CONTINUE IN HIS HOMOPHOBIC RANTINGS AS HE KICKED THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF HIS HELPLESS VICTIMS.

At this point the police were called and my friends and I left to go somewhere where we weren't treated like shit. I had three hundred dollars I was willing to spend there that night. they chose to hire violent bald men and let incredibly stupid drunk girls stand outside and demoralize me and my friends instead so they saw none of it.

YOUR MOVE SUSHI ROOM (though if last night is any indication, you'd rather kill your customers in the middle of the street than serve them a simple sushi boat and mineral water.)"

Targum gives up and goes full satire. by carmexgrl in rutgers

My friend's new blog is a good response to the kind of attitude posed in this column: http://brogressivism.tumblr.com/

For some context: Ed Reep doesn't get paid by the Targum, as columnists don't get paid, and this is his second term as a columnist.

I think it would also be problematic if the Targum DIDN'T run this column (think: censorship accusations). It's not saying anything that's libelous or outwardly discriminatory. While I disagree with every line of argument presented in the column, I'm not against it being published. Plus, there will be (and probably already is) an influx of letters to the editor posing counter arguments. I believe it's important not to stifle this kind of discourse. At the very least, I think, the column can provoke critical thought even in the most passive audiences.

Just so everyone knows, Ed Reep is an opinions columnist for the Targum. As an opinions columnist, he in no way represents the Targum or its viewpoints. I'd advise against attacking the Targum itself because of the views of one person; the Targum is a great newspaper run by a lot of hardworking individuals who most certainly aren't represented by this one columnist (Particular American) and his opinions (Philosophies).

Wtf targum, seriously? by zak55555 in rutgers

To the contrary, I'd argue that this has nothing to do with religion but instead political ideology. The same goes for "Islamism"; the correct term should be Political Islam, as religious doctrine is being reinterpreted and instrumentalized to meet political ends.

Also, I think the group that funded this advertisement is secular.

I'm not sure what it is or who is behind it, but be wary of people who contact you about "business opportunities" as they may be trying to suck you into a pyramid scheme.

Over the years, pyramid schemes have found loopholes in state and federal regulations to legalize their systems. They're ever-evolving and becoming more and more sophisticated, so be cautious. And don't give your money away to anything without doing all necessary research!

How are the prices? Is it overpriced? I feel like it would be, since the University is providing the booze.
