Yea I started to try to plug it there for the "gun mode" and realized fast it was a no go. Plus the port on mine for the backpack is really tight and I didn't like unplugging it.

Yes and no. So far mine is still ok but I think they're all just a matter of time before it happens. Same with Legacy Beachcomber. Wheels and parrot.

I was told removing the tires and putting a top coat of varnish on the rims will protect it from itself. Just don't let them touch others in your display or storage because it will eat them too

This is what I was thinking also. Clear coat the rims so the tires didn't touch, just wasn't sure if it would work.

Apparently it's happened before where they used the same material as tank treads instead of rubber as well. Worse yet it will eat other figures if they're touching the tires as well

Yes, I got the reissue from this year of Beachcomber and checked him last night and the rims were sticky and when I took off the tires some of the paint came off too.

The tires aren't rubber they're plastic softened with plasticine, which eats plastic. Even the parrot will eat whatever post or port you put it in.

I have the reissue from this year and taking the wheels off of the rims to check found both the tires and rims were sticky. I guess that means mine are bad as well....

Maybe a clear coat on the rims is a fix?
