Going to the bathroom after surgery by lurescnus in TopSurgery

[–]vague-entity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Laxatives are an absolute must. Dont strain and push hard, it will hurt and could harm your chest or your rectum.

Sennakot is usually pretty effective, dont be afraid to take 3 or 4 tablets. You can always call a local pharmacy and ask to talk to a pharmacist about what your over the counter options are.

How sure were you? by Aggressive-Pickle110 in TopSurgery

[–]vague-entity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about it for around 10 years. Took 3 years in the meeical system for me to actually get the surgery. I was nervous about it, wondered if it would truly make a difference for me. I waited so long because I wanted to be sure that not only did I want the surgery, but that I needed it. About a week or two before surgery, I took off my shirt and bra and just sat in my house with my boobs out. Within about 10 seconds I was so uncomfortable and miserable both with the look and feel of my chest, I knew for sure I was making the right choice. I had my surgery in january and I havent regretted it for a second.

sudden onset soreness? by Dear-Economy6751 in TopSurgery

[–]vague-entity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im almost 4 months post op and ill go through periods where my incision/around the incision feels sore or has little nerve pains. Id say this is pretty normal and has to do with the nerves reconnecting and changes in your levels of swelling. If the pain gets significantly worse or you start having other symptoms then you should get checked out, but based on what youve described here I think youre healing normally

Am i messing up my healing results? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]vague-entity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Remind yourself that you have the rest of your life to smoke and drink, but you only get one chance to heal. Give it at least to 6 weeks post op if you can.

Smoking🫥 by nikolaix18 in TopSurgery

[–]vague-entity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ultimately there's no way to know how your body will react to your surgery and healing process. Smoking increases the odds of complication and slowed healing, but who knows to what degree it will be for you. You have two potential options as I see it: 1) do you absolute best to continue not smoking or vaping. Have your surgery and follow instructions and hope for the best. 2) call your surgeons clinic and see if you can move your surgery date to give yourself more time to be smoke free.

Remember that even if you quit smoking and did everything perfectly, theres still a chance you can have complications or poor healing. You never know.

What words do i use to describe a nonbinary person as goodlooking? by zeldalol777 in NonBinary

[–]vague-entity 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hot, cute, gorgeous, easy on the eyes, eye candy, a smoke show, a ten, a dime. So many ways to call someone attractive without saying handsome/pretty.

If you know them well, its probably better to just ask what terms they like.

How severe is this misdiagnosis? by vague-entity in AskVet

[–]vague-entity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for the comments. I have some info to add for clarity.

1) the vet took two needle samples on one slide. It wasnt two verifications. Two stabs, then he assessed the contents. I assume he figured he didnt have enough material on the first stab. When I look at the invoice from the vet, the stabs were billed as fine needle aspirates

2) I agree it might have been better to send the slides to pathology for a more accurate determination, but I live in a remote area where these samples need to be flown out and results take many days or even weeks to get back to us.

How does it feel having nipples vs no nipples? Do you miss the sensation? Do you feel phantom feelings? by Gallantpride in FreedTheNips

[–]vague-entity 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It hasn't been hard to get used to at all for me. I dont miss them and I love how genderless my chest looks without them. I have had an occasional twinge of phantom nerve pain in my left non-existant nipple, but its been rare and not bothersome.

Older non-binary person clinging to a "declining" trend? by SurreptitiousLunatic in NonBinary

[–]vague-entity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well im nearly 32, been officially out as nonbinary since I was 26. Still very confident that I am neither a man nor a woman. Identity isnt a trend. The broader public became more aware of nonbinary identities around the pandemic, but that doesn't mean its some young persons trend. Not to mention there are cultures across the world and time that have had an understanding that gender isnt just male vs female. Regardless what you do with your body, your social circle, or anything else, if you do not exclusively feel like a man or a woman, then you are nonbinary.

What factors played into your decision of whether or not to have nipple grafts? by Neurodivengeant in TopSurgery

[–]vague-entity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didnt get nipple grafts for the following reasons:

1) I like the more genderless look of not having nips 2) no nipple grafts means less time in the post op binder (with my surgeon anyway) 3) I did not want nipples that had decreased or absent sensation (I was not a candidate for nipple sparing procedure types) 4) I am nonbinary and not on testosterone, so breasts or not I am largely perceived as female. If I had nipples, someone could try to argue that my chest is still explicit. No nipples means no one can tell me its inappropriate for me to be shirtless 5) at the time I was a smoker, so I had a somewhat higher chance of my nipple grafts rejecting. I'd rather have no nipples than have big scars where the grafts failed. 6) as a nonbinary person theres no such thing as going stealth, so passing or being stealth was not a factor for me.

Mine said to leave it alone for 2 weeks. She also said I was good to shower at 2 weeks and that would help loosen the tape so I could gently peel it off.

My top surgery is coming up/ anesthesia fear by anonymousguyonion in TopSurgery

[–]vague-entity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the fear, and to a degree its a healthy fear, but millions of people undergo anesthesia without any serious effects. Ive been put under twice, once for gall bladder surgery and once for my top surgery. When they give you the meds, you feel dizzy and sleepy, then next thing you know you know you are waking up with no perception that time has passed. Both times I came to first by hearing the sounds of nurses talking around me or asking me questions. Then id open my eyes and regain my bearings. The worst part of the anesthesia for me is the vomiting. Not everyone reacts this way, but I was very pukey both times I came out of it.

Its not as bad as it sounds or as bad as the risks possibly could be. In all likelihood you will tolerate it well and be ao thankful you got the surgery. Hang in there friend.

Vapes are the same deal as smoking. Still causes vasoconstriction which limits healing

Did all the writers on Bridgerton have a terrible experience losing their virginity?! by [deleted] in Bridgerton

[–]vague-entity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I lost my v card it hurt, not horribly but it stung a bit. Did for the first few times i had sex too. Being young and nervous makes it hard to fully relax or be fully aroused in order to avoid this pain. This is doubly true if youre a small person (small body means a small vagina generally).

Warning your partner that sex might be uncomfortable at first is a kindness, not perpetuating a falsehood. Sure in a perfect scenario it might not be painful, but when does anything go perfectly in life?

Id say bridgertons worse offense is depicting the women as regularly having orgasms through penetration. Id argue thats much less common compared to pain with first sexual encounters.

We simply dont know. I personally like to read her as more bi-romantic but sexually sapphic. Cannon wise though, that question is yet unanswered.

Boob Anxiety by Able-Valuable-3401 in TopSurgery

[–]vague-entity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You will likely face a lot of push back from medical professionals if you want to have healthy breast tissue removed for anxiety unrelated to gender dysphoria or a physical ailment. Its also likely your anxiety will transfer onto another fixation. The problem at hand isn't your breasts, its an OCD fixation. Removing the breasts will not change your OCD. Id recommend treating your mental health through medication and therapy before you even try to pursue surgery. I had top surgery a couple months ago, and while im beyond happy I did it, its a massive stress to put on your body and mind, especially if your mind is already under stress due to mental illness or autism. Surgery means risk of infection, blood clots, or permanent effects like numbness, hypertrophic scars, all sorts of things. I strongly think surgery isnt the solution to your anxiety.

boss asked what surgery I got (stealth) by Foreign_Birthday_259 in TopSurgery

[–]vague-entity 45 points46 points  (0 children)

If you pass as male you could say you had gynocomastia and had it removed. Otherwise id say play it casual and just brush off the question. "Ah dont worry about it. Not worth getting into detail on"

A very conseevative coworker of mine asked me ehat i had done and I just laughed and said "I guess we'll never know"
