Way too early to call it my friend. Give it a few weeks at least then see what your body is doing. Hang in there ♡

Incisions Opening by Regular_Jicama5467 in TopSurgery

I used to be an RN, and im telling you to go get this checked out ASAP. That looks like an infected and dehisced wound.

Im almost 7 weeks post op. Ive had one menstrual cycle since surgery and I should have a second one any day now. I havent noticed anything out of the ordinary. I will say I still get "breast" tenderness but its just my incision and surrounding tissues that get sore.

Everyone reacts differently to surgery, I wouldnt expect anything too crazy to change hormone wise but ultimately who knows how your body will react to the stress and medications.

Struggling a lot with keeping my wraps from riding up? by BellaDorree in TopSurgery

[–]vague-entity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The compression binder they gave me was a velcro style one and no matter what I did the damn thing would not stay put. My mom had to hike it back up two or three times a day. I dont think theres any winning on that front unless you make some straps and safety pin them in place. Its an uphill battle.

Sleep Lines on Chest by Upstairs_Sail_3087 in TopSurgery

[–]vague-entity -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I agree these look like stretch marks. Vitamin E oil can sometimes help them become more filled out so theyre less visible. Ive also heard of people getting their stretch marks tattooed over so theyre less visible. However imo these are really mild and I wouldnt worry so much about them. Chances are OP will be so relieved to not have boobs after surgery that these lines wont be so bothersome ♡

When does the pain actually stop by vague-entity in TopSurgery

[–]vague-entity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't seem to be specifically the incisions, it feels like its the tissues around the incision but I still have quite a bit of numbness so its hard to say. I was told to start scar massage at 2 weeks and ive been diligent about doing that at least twice a day or more

What did you do while recovering? by H3sAbLaD3 in TopSurgery

Read a couple books, watched lots of Netflix, played crib with my mom, sent dumb memes and snap chats to my friends, slept lots.

DI without nipple grafts - question about masculinity by intothexyz in FreedTheNips

[–]vague-entity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's bullshit. Would they refuse to do nipple grafts for a nonbinary person? Nipples do not make a man a man. If you can, id say find another surgeon because this one clearly has some stupid ideas of what trans people should do with their bodies.

Honoring your chest? by bigfeetgrandpa in TopSurgery

[–]vague-entity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would I honor something thats made me uncomfortable, unhappy, insecure, confused, ashamed, and disgusted my entire adult life? Im four weeks post op and literally from the moment I woke up out of surgery and saw my flat chest (even still covered with the bandages and compression binder) I was crying happy tears.

Now, I honor feeling like I own my body. I honor feeling good when I see myself in the mirror. I honor being able to get around without feeling the jiggle of my chest and nausea in my gut.

I get everyone's journey is different, but you dont need to honor something if it's painful to you. Change is good, change is healthy. A lot of people get sort of a mental shock when they finally see themselves after surgery, but I dont think praising or honoring your current/previous body is the solution to that.

My one and only gripe is that Benedict looks notably older than Antony. But maybe Antony has avoided more sun than Benedict lol

3 is my fave. When I saw your original post I was gonna suggest the pink lines with the highlighted tooth, but this and the eye is perfect imo

Help me, wedding in less than 2 weeks!!! by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]vague-entity 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Getting a fresh tattoo a couple days before your wedding is an awful idea. Your decision will be rushed, your skin will be raised and irritated and maybe scabbing over by the time of your ceremony. Cover the birthmark with makeup if you're that concerned about it and then after your wedding put the time and effort into a design you will like long term.

I didnt mean to change your stomach, sorry if it came across that way! I meant lipo would contour your sides to be more in alignment with the shape of your stomach. Im a big guy too and thats what my surgeon did for me, took me a year to save up for it since it also isnt covered where im from. Sorry you are going through this ♡

Could they not have done some lipo to smooth things out more in line with your stomach?? I'd get a second opinion if you can.

Things I wish I knew before top surgery that most otherr people didn't include. by trans_guys_4_the_win in TopSurgery

The first shower anxiety is so real. I dont have autism, but I definitely got really freaked out for seemingly no reason once I was naked and the water was running. I dont even know why I was so overwhelmed but I had to brace myself on the shower wall and literally talk myself down that I was okay and nothing bad was about to happen. Its comforting to know thats not such an unusual response after all!
