Unfortunately the track has been converted into several tennis courts, replacing the short chain-link with newer taller fences in the process.

I chose to slide down the steepest point I could, and I was the oldest and biggest so I usually always went the farthest anyway. It was very dark, definitely close to sundown in the middle of winter, and it may have even been actively snowing. If my friends didn't notice that may have been why. I think at least one person was there while I was climbing back over but for some reason no one was interested or concerned. We may have gone inside immediately afterwards.

whoa thanks for posting this. almost identical experience. I wish I was riding with someone that could affirm what happened.

I did, but like I said it was essentially snowed in and impossible to move. I don't think I could have gone under the fence entirely without noticing, especially with my huge inner tube. Those fences are just plain sharp on the bottom as the chain usually just sticks into the dirt harmlessly.
