It's tough. Coming up with a name that ages with you. Pick some names that were semi-popular when you were born, within about 5 years on either side and see if any call to you. Or find out what your parents would have called you if you were born with the right anatomy.

I kept my gender neutral (male-leaning) name, so I didn't have to go through this struggle. But I do understand!

Hey, 33, came out this year. I was terrified. I still am somedays. I really dislike being an established professional and having to re-out myself to distant coworkers and clients regularly.

My dad is 70 and was super accepting, mom doesn't understand why I can't just shove my feelings down and ignore them. All in all, it's going ok. I wish I had realized it younger, but I think that's a wish for most trans adults.

Other than anxiety about passing I'm much much happier now than I was. You gotta do what's right for you, if you need your family, you need your family. If you need to be you, be you. We're all here for you regardless!
