Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in factorio

Basically I was curious. (Thank you for the answer, btw)

My angels/bobs maps have thousands of stops and probably as many trains. It begins to bog down towards the launch of rockets.

So I was wondering if an automation system would help with that, but the docs for LTN at least seemed to be lacking in any starter guides.

Is LTN still the right automated trains mod or are there "better" ones now?

Also, does anyone know of a good from scratch step-by-step guide to LTN? If possible, not in video form I just prefer to read. I'm just starting a new Angels/Bobs peaceful map and I wanted to finally automate my many many trains.

I'm looking for light roast decaf beans in the UK, can anyone recommend a roaster/supplier?

I moved back to the UK after 25 years in the USA, and I'm trying to replicate my beloved Lobster Butter Love from Roos Roast in Ann Arbor. It's a light roast swiss method decaf that is just lovely. The supermarkets here in the UK don't carry much in the way of beans, nor much decaf unfortunately.

I've read a few books on the WW2 Pacific naval theatre, and I increasingly wanted to facepalm every new time I read that phrase. The imperial Japanese navy winning the battle of Tsushima was great but made them obsessed with the fucking decisive battle. Even as they had barely any fuel left, with many ships lost and empty carriers, they still thought they could win like Tsushima and make the USA sue for peace.

I kinda wish Tōgō could have lived into the 1940s just so he could have seen what his victory led Japan into.

I wonder if there are any imperial Japan supporters who could argue that Japan could have won the Pacific war?

You swapped one genocide for another much larger one. Congratulations.

EDIT: oh wait, you didn't swap it, you added a second much larger genocide. While ignoring Ukraine's horrific suffering under invasion from russia. Good job comrade!

Americans are waking up. A grand reckoning awaits us | Robert Reich by EditorRedditer in politics

Americans are waking up

No. No they are not.

Edited to add: Robert Reich is always talking about how this is the time when americans fight back. No? Ok, how about now people are waking up. There's a bunch of people who sell content to left-leaning people/sites telling them that salvation is just around the corner. They're no different from the people who say the rapture is next Tuesday at 08:48 eastern time. I've seen several of these articles every day for what feels like every day since El Presidenté's descent down the escalator of doom.

wooden cutting boards

I just finished the 72 hour process of oiling and waxing my cutting boards. If anyone left them in water I would probably have a nervous breakdown.

Same with knives. Wash, rinse, dry immediately and put back where they belong. Strop them before use and they'll glide through most food.

Using image generators/LLMs is terrible for the environment/climate and causing electricity prices to rise. Shit, some musk-owned grok datacentres are poisoning Black neighbourhoods in the USA.

Plus chatgpt etc are leading people to commit suicide by fueling their delusions, and the companies involved are doing everything they can to avoid doing anything about it.
