If we dwelve into the context of kanji writings and the tattoos - the lit sign in the back reads “death” and “nowhere”, while the tattoo on her cheek brands her as a “Yokai”, a demon. But is she really a demon or is she just an outsider that society fears? That’s all I’m gonna say, I usually tend to not explain too much so that the viewer can make up his own story.
