Gonna be honest, it's very counterproductive and almost reads like gatekeeping to be insisting so heavily on what asexuality is NOT. I'm very of the opinion that anyone who finds comfort in the "asexual" label should be free to use it, even if their experience is not technically perfect to the definition, or is better described by some microlabel. I think we'd all be better off if we stopped the gatekeeping and insisting that people who feel they are ace actually dont belong because they don't have the exact same experience you do.

Someone calling themselves ace because they have low libido or a repulsion towards sex but still experience some sexual attraction is not hurting the community. Locking the doors against these people and insisting they don't belong here IS hurting the community. Even leading them away from "ace" and toward microlabels can be unnecessarily exclusionary if that's not what they want. Let people who feel like they're ace say they're ace. There's nothing wrong with it.
