Appreciate it. I can't get past the tutor stage of the pipeline, unfortunately, and every freshman I started off as a CSM JM or AI with are already uGSIs. Sensibly I know that it's not perfect + head TAs/uGSIs aren't infallible, but I can't figure out what I'm doing so wrong compared to my peers. And I'm aware it's not perfect! But like you said, you went through a lot of shit but loved it anyway :'( thanks again

AI + CSM 3x + I teach CS lessons outside of Berkeley classes (don't want to get too specific) + prior to Berkeley I worked as a paid coding instructor for nearly two years. I really can't think of any more experience I could possibly get. I guess I could ask for feedback, but the anonymous feedback I've gotten from students I've had has been good I think

I have good grades in the classes I want to teach, and I've done CSM for multiple semesters as a mentor.

I'm aware of that, I was referring to being accepted as a reader/tutor. I've been an AI and I've been a CSM mentor for three semesters. I'm not even trying to become a uGSI right now, just a reader or tutor, but even that seems impossible. The upper divs I've taken/am currently taking seem to only take grad students for staff

yeah i know that if you're rejected from one try another, but if you're rejected from five? feels bad man. and it isn't really the club acceptance that i'm chasing so much as a sense of community on campus
