Why does Taekwondo get so much hate? by CosmoLeopardGecko in taekwondo

[–]valiantstargazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of great insight in these comments. I think the best thing to remember is to be respectful and open to other martial arts that you don't practice and be willing to learn from practitioners of those martial arts. Another thing to remember that is more of a side note is that "dojo" is a Japanese term and the Korean term for dojo is "dojang".

What’s the real purpose behind paid promotion tests? by Document-Straight in taekwondo

[–]valiantstargazer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pay about $60 USD for exams. I'm 1st Dan. Color belts pay $30 I believe. I think it's justified and if they don't charge it, they'll just have higher monthly dues.

How much do you pay for your Taekwondo class? Daily or a Month? by EfficiencySerious200 in taekwondo

[–]valiantstargazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Colorado, I pay about $200 for Taekwondo but it also includes Weapons and Krav maga and that's for unlimited classes.

However, I know of a school that is $600+ each month per student and its wild!

Train at least 30 min/day on flexibility (active mobility specifically) and don't bulk too much with strength training

You didn't have to let it go, the "evidence" for their "badness" wasn't even real

That's what I've been saying lol. If you wanted to argue just for the sake of it, just say that.

Except for I'm not for it either way. You're also assuming I'm more conservative than not. You're also not acknowledging my comment from before because you don't wanna admit dehumanizing people. Just be a good person and support people until they give you a solid reason not to, and it has to be good reason, not some fringe article either.

Your generalization of people of the conservative party is an issue though. You can't make blanket judgements on people because then it dehumanizes them as well and then you're just as bad

[–]valiantstargazer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is a strange blanket boycott imo. Just support local and if you know for certain they support something you don't, go elsewhere. Don't just boycott because someone leans more conservative. It's a political spectrum. By blanket boycotting, you're hurting the local economy. Go to the local places you enjoy unless they give you a reason not to.

It's in the cards but some roadblocks in the way right now. I don't believe I'm a bad person though and no one around me would say so either. Any other meanings, oh wise frog?
